Something about Miles Edgeworth is how notable he is in people’s lives. Edgeworth holds a lot of importance to a lot of people, even when he acts like a jerk to them in most instances. In the first Ace Attorney game, Phoenix Wright is inspired by Edgeworth to become a defense attorney, although at this point in time, Edgeworth changes his aspirations. Despite being such a trivial thing, Phoenix feels a lot of gratitude towards Edgeworth and it is the incident that they experienced as children that has shaped Phoenix’s entire life.

Then there’s Franziska von Karma. Despite being on the lines similar to siblings, Franziska at first seems to express great dislike towards Miles Edgeworth and wishes nothing more than to show him up by beating Phoenix Wright as Edgeworth was unable to do. From a young age, Edgeworth has only ever aspired to follow in the footsteps of his father. That is, until one fateful day when his father is killed and justice was not served. Since then, Edgeworth has been harboring a great deal of unhappiness in his heart over the loss of his father and the lack of justice.

It is this lack of justice and his love for his father that drives Edgeworth to follow von Karma to Europe in order to gain the knowledge needed to become a prosecutor so that criminals could no longer just walk free from the punishment they deserved. That is when we meet Miles Edgeworth in Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, who has given up on believing people are innocent until proven guilty. While it may sound sad, Edgeworth’s entire drive revolves around the love and admiration he had for his father, and the feeling of loss and civil injustice served.

At the end of Phoenix Wright: Ace Attorney, Miles Edgeworth turns a new leaf. Rather than assume all defendants are guilty, Edgeworth wants more and aims to seek for the truth above all else. When it came to the VonKarma trial, Edgeworth stood against his mentor and stood with Phoenix Wright in order to find out the truth of his father’s death. Oh, the betrayal! Edgeworth didn’t just want justice, although it was much deserved, nor did he want to ruin von Karma’s name for the sake of doing so. No, Edgeworth wanted to know the truth that von Karma distorted when Edgeworth was a child.

In Rise From the Ashes, Edgeworth is forced to be the prosecutor during the case involving the SL-9 incident. In this case, Damon Gant is put on the stand to defend his case as a murderer. However, since he is the District Chief of Police in Los Angeles, Damon Grant has a lot of leeway, plus, he’s got a lot of stuff on Edgeworth that makes it difficult for Edgeworth to question Damon Grant and ensure he gets his just desserts. Then Damon Grant pleads the fifth which means he will not say anything to incriminate himself. The downside is that Damon Grant can also not defend himself. So, despite the risk of losing his job, Edgeworth teams up with Phoenix Wright to take Damon Grant down and expose him as the killer and blackmailer that he is. This essentially exposes all of the corruption within the department and really puts Edgeworth at a disadvantage, but this is how Edgeworth pursues the truth!

Now, if you read the quote, you’ll know that Edgeworth is a man who is popular with the ladies. While it is a laugh what Edgeworth deems as fashionable, it is hard to deny how popular Edgeworth is with the masses, even considering his initial role as an antagonist. Miles Edgeworth is popular with characters in game as well as real people all around the world.
Just look at Wendy Oldbag who absolutely adores Edgeworth to the point that even Edgeworth himself is turned off. He absolutely hates dealing with her because of how much she gets flustered over him. Then there’s Sister Bikini who has batted her little lashes at our dear Miles Edgeworth. Clearly, he’s a catch.

Likewise, Kay Faraday did not trust Miles Edgeworth at first but when Edgeworth helped Kay to seek justice for her father, she knew she could trust him completely.
