It Will Be Worth the Wait - What to Expect in Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc)

Demon Slayer. We know it. We love it. And we are eagerly awaiting the next section of the popular series. Tanjirou will continue to balance his responsibilities as a member of the Demon Slayer Corps with his personal journey to find a way to turn his sister, Nezuko, back into a human from her current demon state. For those looking for more information on the upcoming season, here is what you have to look forward to with Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc)!

*Spoiler alert*

New Season, New Demons, Continuing Adventure

Story and Characters

In Kimetsu no Yaiba: Yuukaku-hen (Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba Entertainment District Arc), our three favorite demon slayers find themselves assisting the Sound Hashira, Tengen Uzui. The group travels to the red light district, of all places! The Sound Hashira has several contacts in the entertainment district, and these women have started to lose touch with him. Without knowing what has happened to them, but knowing they were hot on the tail of a demon residing in the area, he has come to investigate the demon and save his wives. (Did we mention he calls them his wives?)

This season will feature more of the comedy we love, as you see Tanjirou, Zenitsu, and Inosuke get taken in by geisha houses as they try to investigate what is happening to the people who have been disappearing from the district. All of the action will still be present, with some new twists. Nezuko taps further into her demon side and threatens to lose sight of her humanity. If it is anything like the manga, she will absolutely slay.
Will she bite a human this season? You’ll have to wait and find out!

Chronologically Speaking

Though the Entertainment District Arc is technically the second season, we wanted to take a moment and pause to note that it is the third animated arc of the Demon Slayer series. It is unnecessary to watch it before this series airs, but the record-breaking movie Kimetsu no Yaiba Movie: Mugen Ressha-hen (Demon Slayer -Kimetsu no Yaiba- The Movie: Mugen Train) is the preceding story to the upcoming arc. If you have not yet watched it, the entire season takes place on a train. Instead of having a season where there are no setting changes, the movie was made for the Mugen Train Arc.

When and Where to Watch

December 5th, 2021, is the confirmed air date for Demon Slayer’s new season. The production will air on Funimation and Crunchyroll. With less than two months until it arrives, this is the perfect time to get a rewatch in before the new series airs. Demon Slayer’s season one and movie are available on Funimation, Crunchyroll, and Netflix, so get your rewatch going!

What to Expect in the Meantime

In the meantime? NEW CONTENT IS COMING! Demon Slayer’s next season has been confirmed for December 5th, but other content is arriving in October. Even though it will all be viewed as this anime’s 2nd cours, starting on October 10th, episodes will be released that feature expanded details surrounding the Mugen Train Arc. Many new scenes that did not appear in the Mugen Train movie will be included, so don’t miss out!

Final Thoughts

The first season of Demon Slayer was a thrilling story of struggle and sacrifice whose story, characters, and animation caught the attention of anime fans all over the world. From there, Mugen Train came out and broke many records. Now, we excitedly await the next installment of the Demon Slayer franchise, and it is almost here!
