Discussion Time

We’ve already been following our band of demon slayers for more than four years. Time sure flies fast, and we don’t even notice it running. Alas, it has come to that time again when one of our favorite series has reached its end. Just like most shounen manga, Kimetsu no Yaiba also has a quirky group of protagonists. There’s the diligent Tanjirou, beautiful Nezuko, ladies man Zenitsu(he forced us to write that), and wild Inosuke. Who would’ve known that such a mix and match set of characters will hold together and give us one hella story?

Why You Should read Kimetsu no Yaiba’s (Demon Slayer) Final Arc

1. Demon Slayer’s vs Demons Finale

Right from the start, we are already shown how vile demons are. Of course, there are always exceptions to the rule like Tamayo and Yushiro. During the final arc, our demon slayers will finally have their long-anticipated fight against Muzan. Equipped with demon slayer marks, the captains of different breaths slug with Muzan blow per blow. They execute one plan after another in the hopes that at least one will work and finally end Muzan. Holding the reins, of course, is an Ubuyashiki.

2. Deaths Everywhere

Kimetsu no Yaiba has never shied away from killing its characters. Right from the start, Tanjurou’s family has already been slaughtered by a demon. Gotouge-sensei has also made sure to depict in a very not-so-pretty way. Another death that wrenched our hearts is the Flame Pillar’s, Kyojuro Rengeki, death. His death has made the entire fandom shed buckets of tears. With Muzan as their opponent, it’s to be expected that there will be deaths left and right. However, we will not be spoiling who lives and who dies.

3. Out of Era Ending

Arguably the most controversial part of every manga is its ending. There is a lot of manga out there that was jeered by its fan base for having an ending that belongs to the sewers. We’re staring at you, Bleach! Anyway, Kimetsu no Yaiba’s ending is truly unexpected. We’re willing to bet a fortune that nobody has predicted such a turn of events. Whether or not it justifies the whole series... well, it’s weird. It’s like adding lemon to a glass of orange juice. On the other hand, we are happy to see all of our beloved characters one way or the other.

Final Thoughts

A lot of fans may be dissatisfied with how Kimetsu no Yaiba (Demon Slayer) has ended, but we here in Honey’s Anime think that the ending is justifiable. The entire series has run its course with a dark, heavy, and gloomy atmosphere. That, of course, is reasonable since it’s set in an era where demons roam freely. We understand that Gotouge-sensei wants to end the series on a happy note. It may not be as impactful as the other parts of the series, but it is nice to witness a ray of sunshine in a void full of demons. At worst, we can just treat the ending as some sort of epilogue. What do you think? Does the final arc justify the entire series? We’d love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below!

I am a copywriter, proofreader, and editor. I love watching anime, reading manga, and writing my own stories. Watch out in the future as you may see one of my works one day. Manga and anime were big parts of my childhood. I grew up watching Yu Yu Hakusho, Slam Dunk, One Piece, and Dragon Ball Z. Those were probably one of the happiest and most carefree days of my life. In fact, most of my values are probably molded by manga. No, that's not an exaggeration.
