High-school girl Akira Tachibana was once the ace of the track team, but gave up running after a certain incident. Akira is bad at expressing herself, and is often mistaken as being cold by other people. Standing before her is Kondou, the manager at her part-time job. Akira is bursting with feelings, but Kondou is bewildered by her straightforward affection towards his hopeless self. This is a melancholy love story that can make anybody recall a certain time in their pasts, set in the softly falling rain.

Koi wa Ameagari no You ni is one of the romance anime of the season and it’s turning heads in positive and negative ways. The romance itself is quite enjoyable with Akira being a lovestruck girl who may appear cold on the outside but is actually quite sweet on the inside and Kondou being the older man she is in love with. Unfortunately, Kondou is a lot older than her as he is middle aged so this actually may rub people the wrong way due to the age difference.
