What You Need to Know:

  • Hot off the press comes news from famed developer Cygames, as they gear up for a new season of their competitive card-game, Shadowverse. To help ring in the new season the team has announced that a new expansion titled 'Dawnbreak, Nightedge' will be released at the end of the month.
  • Along with a plethora of new cards for players to try out in their decks, a new keyword titled 'choose', is now going to be a part of the growing meta! This new function will allow players to choose from a selection of different abilities or effects when they play certain cards, allowing for more elaborate creations. It sounds kind of similar to Hearthstone's Druid class where you have the option of choosing a certain ability to either buff minions, your own hero, draw cards, among other things.
  • In addition, throughout this month the team will be unveiling new cards from the new expansion, including cards which take advantage of the new choose mechanic. They'll also be giving away a Legendary card to everyone who plays the game, which will be announced later this month.
  • The new expansion will also include two cards that come with free leader skins based on the results of the 1st Birthday Card Popularity Poll, which took place in the game last year. To get a closer look at the new expansion be sure to head to PAX East, where Cygames will be showcasing the game in person, so if you want a hands-on experience then be sure to head there!
