Anyone else getting a Dance with Devils vibe but maybe less dangerous? This looks like a darker version of Kyoto Teramachi Sanjou no Holmes which is also airing this summer.

I was going to say I was getting that vibe. Reverse harem anime are on fire as of late. Code:Realize and Nil Admirari no Tenbin anyone? I mean this doesn't seem to be too different from them.

I would love to be surrounded by a supernatural boy harem. I am not complaining one bit about this!

I'll say! And it has my favorite female seiyuu, Kana Hanazawa as the lead? It's on my watchlist right now!

Synopsis

An illusionary tale of a girl who fights against fate and the guard of the shadows interwoven.

The stage of this story is modern day London.

A world where a person’s fear and anxiety can give life to inhuman things known as ‘shadows’

Right after arriving to Great Britain to study abroad, a young girl is dragged into a bizarre incident.

She knows no one in this town, so while searching for help, she loses her way. She ends arriving at a strange café that is only open at night.

That café is called ‘Café Forbidden’.

A place where guardians who protect the boundary between humans and shadows gather.

Three Episode Impression

Phantom in the Twilight is yet another bishounen anime for the season, or rather, it’s also a reverse harem involving supernatural elements and magic. While the genre isn’t as exciting as it used to be, Phantom in the Twilight is pretty decent. Ton, the main character, has some personality and power to her, and we didn’t even have to waste a whole episode for her to figure herself out. There’s a bit of action, drama, melodrama, and of course, many light hearted moments for a rather casual anime. Really, it’s an OK anime and probably one of my top choices for bishounen anime this season. I just wonder to myself when Shinyao will ever stop being kidnapped. This is like what.. Twice already in 3 episodes? She may not be the main character, but if she’s going to get kidnapped, let’s go Fushigi Yuugi up in here and she can become the antagonist like Yui did, please!

Characters & Voice Actors List

Balieu Ton

Voice Actor: Kana Hanazawa

A girl who has arrived in her beloved London.
Balieu is an 18-year-old girl who was raised in a strict household. She was the good girl but felt cooped up in her hometown. So, when she graduated high school, she used it as an excuse to study abroad and enjoy freedom. Balieu doesn’t know it, but her great-grandmother was actually a legendary Daoist and Balieu has been marked to inherit her abilities.

Vlad Garfunkel

Voice Actor: Takahiro Sakurai

Vlad is the black tea master of Café Forbidden? He is excessively proud and has a lazy personality due to the fact that he has lived for so long. He often leaves everything for the other members to handle, but he has an obsession with black tea, so he brews it himself. He carries the responsibility of a leader in the café.

Luke Bowen

Voice Actor: Nobuhiko Okamoto

A rogue werewolf who is a mischief-maker but thinks deeply of his friends.
Luke is the kitchen chef for Café Forbidden. He has a cheerful, bright personality and can become friends with anyone quickly. He excels the most at Italian cooking, but his specialty is Spaghetti aglio e olio. He fights a lot with Vlad who hates garlic.

Tauryu

Voice Actor: Tomokazu Sugita

Tauryu is the seating host of Café Forbidden. He’s extremely quiet and serious, but sometimes he can be too serious leading him to be a bit of an airhead. He was originally created to be used as a weapon, but he was picked up by a thoughtful individual and came to Great Britain from China.

Wayne King

Voice Actor: Daiki Yamashita

Wayne is a mysterious, beautiful young boy whose true identity is unknown.
