Love it or hate it, ecchi content in manga and anime is here to stay, and it’s a topic we’ve covered many times here at Honey’s Anime. Despite its prevalence, it’s rare to see ecchiness itself form the heart of the story, as is the case with Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!).
Takane Takamine is the classic Student Council President goddess: tall, gorgeous, athletic, and knows everyone and everything that happens in the high school halls. She also has an incredible supernatural ability – by taking off her panties or bra, she can undo one of her own actions, and nobody around her will remember. Except, of course, if they have an immunity to her ability – an immunity that can only be gained by seeing her naked breasts.
Koushi Shirota, an almost-invisible student on the school’s lowest rung of social hierarchy, accidentally sees the president’s breasts while she’s changing – and before he knows it, Takamine has blackmailed him into serving as her personal “closet”, entrusting him with constantly following her around with fresh underwear so she can use her power at will!
Despite the brazenly ecchi premise, this manga has some surprising heart and excellent humour to it, and it would be a shame to skip based on the blurb alone. So join us today on Honey’s Anime for the review of Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!) Volume 1!

Discussion Time
We’ll be honest – this isn’t a manga you want to read at your family dinner. There are pure uncensored nipples and breasts on every other page, and some very suggestive moments, especially as Shirota is forced to put Takamine’s underwear on for her. At times, the manga feels like a feverish high-school wet-dream, before the comedic beats come to deliver a hearty chuckle, and then a sudden wave of romantic tension washes you off your feet.
Make no mistake, there’s more to Please Put Them On, Takamine-san! than meets the eye. Shirota and Takamine knew each other in middle school and junior high, and although they were only passing friends, there seems to be more history between them than previously thought – with sexual and romantic sparks flying early on!
In this way, the manga ends up surprisingly balanced, swinging between fanservice ecchi and genuine emotion in a see-sawing motion that balances out into a thoroughly enjoyable read. We immediately ordered the second volume after finishing the first, just because we wanted more of the bickering antics between the two characters, and to see where this story will go!
1. Pure Fanservice Heaven
As we mentioned earlier, this manga knows precisely how to use its premise to full advantage, and from just the cover alone, you should know how ecchi things will get. Uncensored breasts, underboob and ass – almost anything goes here, and even when Takamine-san does have clothes on, the mangaka makes sure we know when she doesn’t have a bra on, thanks to perky nipples poking under her clothes.
The character designs are heavenly and inked with confidence, oftentimes in low lighting with heavy shadow and contours. If it sounds like we’re over-analyzing the drawings, that’s because the artwork for an ecchi manga can often elevate it from basic smut to erotic art, and Please Put Them On, Takamine-san! is much closer to the second category.
This is ecchi heaven, and if that’s your type of thing, you’ll be thoroughly happy with the offerings!
2. More Than Just Ecchi
Contrasting the point above, the first volume proves the story has much more to offer than pure fanservice. Takamine-san has a warped view of her own perfection, using her power for trivial reasons such as waiting an extra few moments for a breeze to ruffle her hair in just the right way, or to ensure she wins a swimming race with the most stylish of strokes. Yet we can’t help but notice her subtle facial expressions, the soft and quiet moments when it seems Takamine has become a victim of her own pursuit – and we hope that will grow into its own storyline.
And then of course there’s the obvious romance between Takamine and Shirota. A classic sick-day moment in the back half of the volume shows that Takamine really does care for her so-called “closet”, despite all the derogatory insults she hurls his way. And Shirota, likewise, genuinely cares for Takamine despite the situation she’s forced him into.
Final Thoughts
Ultimately, Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san!) was an unexpectedly perfect read for us – a premise that’s eyebrow-raising and intriguing, a gorgeous visual style filled to the brim with unadulterated ecchi content, and a storyline that has far more to offer than pure sexualization and fanservice.
