Then one day, a giant nemesis attacks the village!

Seth wants to exterminate the root of all nemesis and save the world. So, he sets out on a journey to find the rumored land ‘Radiant’ where the nest of the nemesis is.

Seth parallels Asta from Black Clover in a lot of ways. He’s very weak and wants to fight, so he travels. There is going to be lots of talk of discrimination in the series as humans hate the infected even though they have the power to fight the nemesis. In regards to Seth and Alma, this feels a lot like how the master for Ed and Al was in Fullmetal Alchemist. You know, tough love and all that nonsense. The series overall though, comes across as bland and generic. While apparently the original French comic (yup, this is a non-Japanese work) is loved by many, a lot of said fans are very angry online about the outcome of the anime. Watch if you like Shounen-esque shows, but don’t expect a whole lot. We are going to go ahead and pass on this show for the reasons above and that there are just better shows on air this season that we want to watch and Radiant doesn’t really pull us in.

Seth

Voice Actor: Yumiri Hanamori

Seth is an apprentice mage. He dreams of being a cool mage and so every day, he undergoes special training. He’s clumsy and is always messing things up, but he’s upbeat and sticks to his morals. Due to being cursed by a nemesis, he has horns growing from his head. His special ability is Titan Punch!

Merie

Voice Actor: Aoi Yuuki

Merie is a mage whose characteristic is her bright red, tousled hair. She is a hunter in waiting who belongs to Artemis Academy. Friendly yet shy, she has her innocent moments, but once a curse is invoked, it can become quite the spectacle… Her specialty is defense magic and what she wants are friends!

Dok

Voice Actor: Shintarou Oohata

Dok is a researcher attached to Artemis Academy. Just like Seth, he too is contaminated because of his encounter with a nemesis, but he chose the path where he wouldn’t have to learn magic. He’s extremely scared of things, and thinks the best way to live is to avoid dangerous things. For some reason though, he always is dragged into troublesome things.

Alma

Voice Actor: Romi Park

Alma is a veteran mage and the person who raised Seth. She is a tracking hunter. She lives together with Seth on a flying ship where she can observe nemesis. She things that there is no way that mages who are cursed beings and normal humans can ever come to understand each other. She’s always getting angry, but she also has a side to her that is concerned about Seth.

Mister Boblet

Voice Actor: Makoto Koichi

Mister Boblet is a friendly being that is always with Merie. When he makes a noise, it sounds like ‘pyui’.

Dargunov

Voice Actor: Kouji Yusa

Dargunov oversees the heresy inquisition official squad for all mages. He appears to have a listless and laid back air about him, but behind that facade is a strong sense of justice. He is a powerful, capable heresy inquisition official.

Grim

Voice Actor: Takehito Koyasu

Grim is a mysterious being covered in bandages from head to toe. His first person pronoun is ‘Grim’.

Master Lord Majesty

Voice Actor: Kappei Yamaguchi

Master Lord Majesty is founder of Artemis Academy, a floating city where mages gather. He is a yellow caty. And while he may seem cute, he behaves without abandon, is very wise, and he is always hurriedly running around the citizens of Artemis.
