Synopsis

“This is a prophecy. One day, a terrible calamity will befall you five. When that time comes, you will be the one to protect everyone.”

Daisuke Doujima is a second-year high school student who was kidnapped once when he was a child. One day, Daisuke, along with his childhood friends, Guy, Lou, Marin, and Keisaku are all dragged into the unfathomable phenomenon, ‘Shibuya Drift.’

The center of Shibuya has “leaped” more than 300 years into the future. What lies in wait are a boundless wilderness and a forest, both dotted with ruins… And… the people of the future, revisions, and the giant monster machines that they operate.

Said monsters begin to trample Shibuya. Without knowing the reason why this is happening, a girl named Milo appears to try and save the city. She has the exact same name as the person who saved Daisuke from his kidnappers long ago and is the spitting image of them. She offers the special humanoid weapon ‘String Puppet’ to Daisuke and his friends. She urges them to protect Shibuya as only they can control it.

Daisuke, who has lived his life believing in the prophecy of the kind person, Milo, who saved him, “Protecting your friends is your destiny,” welcomes this new mechanical power that he has gotten his hands on. However, due to the influence of the kidnapping incident, the bonds of the five childhood friends have split.

Three Episode Impression

Revisions follows a group of young men and women who find themselves thrown 300 years into the future. Shibuya, the once blooming city filled with life and business has become overrun by plants and decay. What’s worse is that strange machines called Revisions haunt these forced travelers making their survival even harder. The group has a calling to save this ruined future but their main goal is simple. Find a way back to their own time period and survive doing so!

Revisions so far, has our interests peaked here at Honey’s Anime. Giant mecha fights, sci-fi themed dystopian futures and drama all fuse together to make a pretty awesome anime series of 2019. While the animation style still hasn’t stuck with us yet, we’re finding the story has been keeping us hooked from episode one to episode 3 so far. We also like the fact that all 12 episodes of Revisions are currently out meaning we can binge the series to our hearts’ desire. If you’re into mysterious sci-fi themed action series we recommend watching at least the first three episodes of Revisions as we think this series could be a hidden gem in the making for this winter 2019 season.

Characters & Voice Actors List

Daisuke Dojima

Voice Actor: Koki Uchiyama

Daisuke is 17 years old and a second-year student at Seisho Academy. After being kidnapped as a child, he was saved by a mysterious woman named Milo, who told him, ‘You will be visited by a terrible danger. When that happens, you’ll be the only one who can protect everyone.‘ He blindly believed her words, and has spent the rest of his life preparing for that moment. None of his other friends believe it though, and he has become a social outcast. But he refuses to change his beliefs, and won’t listen to what anyone else says.

Milo

Voice Actor: Mikako Komatsu

Milo is 19 years old. She’s a descendant of humanity from the far future which has been destroyed by a pandemic. Milo is one of the few humans who were resistant to the Revisions. She is an agent called a ‘Balancer’ who works for the organization AHRV, which protects the future where humanity still survives. She has strong feelings of hatred towards the Revisions for their massacres of AHRV’s members and devotes herself to the organization entirely. Emotionally inexpressive, she lives a logical, orderly life.

Chang Gai Steiner

Voice Actor: Nobunaga Shimazaki

Chang Gai is 17 years old and a second-year student at Seisho Academy. He’s Lu’s twin brother, an excellent student, and athletic as well. He dislikes Daisuke for the childish way he’s acting now that his dream of being a hero is coming true. But in fact, just like Daisuke, he remembers the prophecy Milo gave him: ‘Doubt everything.’ He has the capability to be a cool and collected leader, a talent he puts to good use in the SDS (Shibuya Defense Service).

Chang Lu Steiner

Voice Actor: Rie Takahashi

Chang Lu 17 years old and Gai’s twin sister. Just like her brother, she’s good at sports and has excellent grades. She may be trong on the outside, but on the inside, she is dependent on her brother and follows him everywhere. Just like her brother, she’s aggravated by Daisuke’s overprotective nature, and keeps her distance from him. She’s the only member of the team who doesn’t remember Milo’s prophecy.

Marin Temari

Voice Actor: Manaka Iwami

Marin is also 17 years old and a second-year student at Seisho Academy. A classmate of Daisuke’s, she goes by the nickname ‘Marimari’. She’s easygoing and cheerful, and she’s loved by her classmates, but she is also indecisive and lacking in confidence. Milo’s prophecy to her was, ‘In the end, you’ll need to decide for yourself,’ weighs on her heavily. When she was young, she was fond of Daisuke, but in the future she has complicated feelings about the way he behaves as a ‘hero’.

Keisaku Asano

Voice Actor: Soma Saito

Keisaku is 17 years old and a second-year student at Seisho Academy. He is Daisuke’s one real friend and the only person who understands him. He acts as a buffer between the selfish Daisuke and the SDS. He’s always chipper and upbeat, but at the same time, is self-deprecating saying that he ‘has no luck’. He clearly remembers Milo’s words to him from the kidnapping incident, ‘Accept everything’, and for this reason a part of him seems like he’s given up.
