Love does not get any easier as you get older, and My Senpai is Annoying illustrates the funnier side of this in everyday office life. Futaba Igarashi is a salary-woman that has held her job in a sales company for almost two years now, thanks to the help of her Senpai Harumi Takeda. However, Igarashi is smaller than average, leading to teasing antics between the two, with them even being compared to father and daughter. Major Similarities Between Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love is War)? Watch Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi (My Senpai is Annoying)!
1. Will They Won’t They?
Much like Kaguya and Miyuki from Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Igarashi and Takeda from My Senpai is Annoying have a dynamic office relationship that comes in between their desires to expand their closeness outside of the workplace. In Kaguya-sama: Love is War, this dynamic takes a more childish turn with neither wanting to confess, but the relationship in My Senpai is Annoying is that of a mature couple who are afraid to take the leap due to societal expectations in the workplace, giving the secondary characters a purpose in dialogue.
2. Opposites Attract
Kaguya and Miyuki are an example of the old saying that opposites attract with their different class standings and outlooks on hard work versus being granted the way forward. Similarly, Igarashi and Takeda from My Senpai is Annoying are opposites, but in a physical sense, with their different perspectives coming from their physical stature as opposed to their upbringing, showing that their opposite views create an excellent relationship dynamic.

Major Similarities Between Kaguya-sama wa Kokurasetai: Tensai-tachi no Renai Zunousen (Kaguya-sama: Love is War) and Komi-san wa, Comyushou desu (Komi Can’t Communicate)!
1. High School Is the Best Time of Your Life!
A simple premise, but it fits so well. Both Kaguya-sama: Love is War, and Komi Can’t Communicate are in high school, encompassing the awkward conversations about love and comedic timing of difficult situations that high schoolers struggle with when learning about romance. This adds to the comedic dynamic between Komi and Tadano as one struggles to communicate their intentions and the other just struggles to communicate, full stop.
2. Three’s a Crowd
Although Chika Fujiwara took the internet by storm with her dance in Kaguya-sama: Love is War, Chika provides brilliant comedic timing in her interactions with the main couple. In a similar vein, Najimi Osana provides a springboard for Komi and Tadano to begin interacting with other characters, giving comedic commentary for the strange situation the main two characters find themselves in. Though romance is the main theme, a third character and an ensemble cast provide a myriad of comedic opportunities, preventing the writers from being limited to one couple.
