Ilulu: The Oppai Conquering Hearts in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S!

The much-awaited sequel of Kobayashi-san Chi no Maid Dragon (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid) is currently airing, and we couldn’t be happier to see all these vivid characters back in action. The anime is like a colorful floral garden where every character is the epitome of an emotion. Be it the ever-zealous Tohru swooning over Kobayashi, the angel-like Kanna, or the strong and stubborn Fafnir, characters in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid have always been the X-factor.

And that hasn’t changed with the sequel, Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S. This time, one of the newest characters of the story, Ilulu, has been the talk of the town, and fans are going crazy over her on social media.

But that’s not what Ilulu is under the spotlight for, it is her breasts that have gained way more attention than other traits that make Ilulu stand out from other characters. Let's discuss those traits that make Ilulu such a breath of fresh air.

Tormented and Tormentor

In her childhood, Ilulu used to play with human children and adored them despite the displeasure of other dragons. But soon, Ilulu’s parents get killed by humans, and how could the discriminating dragons not cash in on the opportunity? With that, the adoration turned into hatred and Ilulu grew up as the walking disaster for humankind who nearly wiped out the entire city. To her, destruction is child’s play, entertainment that satisfies her hunger. The scars from her childhood have deepened, and from being tormented, Ilulu became a tormentor.

Breasts Don’t Lie

It is not that Ilulu is the only one with such huge oppai, all the adult female dragons have noticeable busts, but Ilulu’s have stolen all the spotlight, in the wrong way, even before the sequel’s airing. However, it was not only to lure viewers, there are too many reasons behind those humongous breasts that add to who Ilulu is as a character. Ilulu is well aware of the fact that breasts and lust go hand in hand with humans. She knows humans are attracted to a lump of flesh, and she doesn’t shy away from asking if they want to touch it, irrespective of gender, to see if humans stray away from the ethics they boast about. But, to Ilulu, those are just the flame sacs that hold the fire of a dragon.

Coping With Trauma

Ilulu’s character is portrayed just like a tortoise, hard outside but soft inside. Ilulu may seem all fierce and intimidating from the outside, but from within, she is a child who wants to play with others and have a simple life without chaos, ironically so. Now, ask yourself a question, what would it feel like if you were on a battlefield instead of watching cartoons in your childhood? Yes, it is unimaginable, and that is what Ilulu went through. The cruel fate snatched away the innocence from her childhood. However, after meeting Kobayashi and feeling the warmth she radiates, Ilulu’s longing for love has been answered. Meeting with new people and making friends with them, Ilulu is trying her best to cope with the trauma, even if it’s just a step at a time.

Final Thoughts

If you observe closely, most of the characters in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid are simple yet fun. But with Ilulu's addition to the story, a brand new equation amongst characters has been discovered. Not only is Ilulu coping with traumatic childhood memories, but she is also well aware of how lust is deeply rooted in humankind and uses it intelligently to differentiate between good and bad humans. Be it fighting with Tohru to become Kobayashi’s favorite or playing with Kanna and Saikawa, Ilulu is colorful as well as monotonous, a type of character never seen before in Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid.

With that said, what do you think about Ilulu as a character? Do you like her? Let us know if we have missed any characteristics that make Ilulu such a unique and lovable character.
