The Steampunk Anime Girls We Love Most

Steampunk is a style that reflects antique-looking but advanced mechanical influences that pull themselves into a stylish package. For anime characters, this frequently looks like Victorian-era clothing and a mixture of mechanical gadgets, or even parts of them are mechanical. With this always-popular aesthetic, here are some of our favorite steampunk anime girls, just in time for Halloween inspiration!

Steampunk: Never Not Fashionable

Violet Evergarden

Violet Evergarden is widely loved and watched, as it was one of the first anime that gained a lot of popularity through its availability on Netflix. Violet Evergarden is a survivor of the war who has come back to society shut off from the rest of the world and does not understand everything that has happened. With an expressionless face and a pretty blue and white dress, the blonde is often compared to a doll by others.

Though she does not show a lot of emotion early on, she starts to find herself when she takes on the job of an auto-memory doll whose work is to put together a letter expressing the feelings and intent of the sender. When Violet gets to work, she gets to work on her typewriter. She sits down, removes her gloves, and her fully mechanical hands do the rest. Through the series, Violet learns better to interpret the emotions of both her clients and herself. Violet is strong of character, but more importantly for today, she has excellent style!

Yvette L. Lehrman, from Lord El-Melloi II Sei no Jikenbo: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note (Lord El-Melloi II Case Files: Rail Zeppelin Grace Note

Yvette is a character we only get to meet for a few episodes, but her impression is lasting. With her pink hair and pink Victorian dress, she makes an impression anywhere she goes. Over her right eye, she wears a star-shaped patch to cover a prized possession. Yvette’s right eye is a malachite gem known as the mystic eye, which possesses several supernatural abilities. With something so powerful and influential as a part of her, it is an impressive feat that she remains sane. With a huge personality that does not stop, Yvette does whatever she pleases, in style!

RyuZU, from Clockwork Planet

Okay, so RyuZU is technically a robot made by a famous clockmaker, but she is fantastic and still makes this list! Though as automata, she is very loyal to her master- who, in this case, she decides is the guy that fixed her. She does not have an offensive language filter installed, so she says rude things whenever she likes, and there is nothing incorrect about this to her android logic. This clockwork cutie wears purple ruffled clothes and hair accessories that are complete with gears. Everything about this girl is the steampunk vibe, and we just love her!

Cardia, from Code:Realize - Sousei no Himegimi (Code:Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~)

Cardia Beckford is the last, but not least! This brunette is the center of a lot of commotion in Code:Realize. She is kidnapped from her home and kidnapped from her kidnappers by the gentleman thief, Arsène Lupin. Cardia is a soft-spoken and sweet girl, but something about her physical makeup is anything but that sweet demeanor. She wears gloves at all times because her body is so poisonous to others that a single touch can kill. Cardia’s makeup is unusual because her father replaced her heart with a mysterious power known as the Horologium, which many groups want.

In this reverse harem, Cardia is supported by no shortage of handsome men! Join Cardia, Arsène Lupin, Victor Frankenstein, and more famously named and gorgeous characters as they work to keep Cardia safe and share their interest in learning more about Cardia’s father. If you fall in love with the anime, don’t forget there is a game!
