Hitomi-centric Episodes Are The Best
I said it a few weeks ago, but Hitomi is really starting to feel like the star of Hinamatsuri. After being blackmailed by Utako tow orka t little bird as a bartender, she continues to work there serving drinks to her teacher and principal who are so stupid that they cannot recognize their own student.
Anyway this week has another heartwarming story around Anzu who for some reason cannot figure out how to user her powers to collect cans, as she tries to get money to buy a video game system. Yet again though, Hina is pushed to the background as we get another episode centered around Hitomi, the rising star.
Her classmates suspect that something is up with her and decide to investigate. They see her go into little bird only to be followed minutes later by their own teacher going in and assume that teenage prostitution is the answer. While that actually is a real problem in modern Japan, her friends decide this is a crisis and need to go help her. They try and fail miserably to investigate it all only to realize that their teacher is an idiot and Hitomi is a bartender left to the wolves by Niita and Utako.
This episode was pure comedy gold and if they keep this up, we have an anime that will easily be in the top 5 across all genres. If you not watching this, then all I have to say is, do you even like anime bro?
I think one of the biggest themes in the latest episodes of 3D Kanojo: Real Girl is the bullying that Hikari has to endure just because a rather entitled boy, Mitsuya, is in love with Hikari’s girlfriend, Iroha. It’s rather intense as Hikari is accused of being a pedophile, and the rumor spreads all over the school so people are constantly abusing Hikari. What frustrates me the most is the mere lack of responsibility that Mitsuya feels for Hikari being wrongly accused of being a pedophile considering he legitimately gets his little sister to cry and then sicks the cops on Hikari. Yet in this week’s episode, it just ended in a misunderstanding? Are you kidding me.
Then the rest of the episode is lost in some sort of stupid beach time fun like everything is OK now. The only amends were made in private in the first like 5 minutes of the episode with Mitsuya and his sister apologizing for the misunderstanding (BEING FRAMED), but will that stop the bullying? Yeah, right. And of course, Hikari is blamed for being easy to accuse because he’s so gloomy. Really? So what the heck is going to happen to Hikari’s life? It’s all so frustrating. I don’t like these types of half-assed solutions to serious problems like bullying. I want to see Mitsuya bullied and his life go to hell for some sort of retribution. Grrr...
What is anime without an onsen or beach episode? Being a comedy anime, Mahou Shoujo Ore is obviously taking benefit of this trope, and that’s the perfect place to cause some trouble with this anime’s particular premise. Here’s the deal: Saki and Sakuyo are the main characters, two idol girls that in her magical form turn into handsome guys. If gender bending wasn’t enough problem in a public bath, let’s say Saki’s crush (who’s also Sakuyo’s brother) is present and joins Saki while in her male persona… what can go wrong?!
The possibility of Saki being naked in front of her crush freaks her out, but the funny part is that Mohiro-chan, Sakuyo’s brother, has a crush on Saki’s male form and doesn’t know his true identity. Like I said before, what can go wrong?! This whole situation turns into a sequence of funny scenes with Saki doing her best not to transform into her female-self, which involves her “love power”, or in this case, keeping herself horny. Mahou Shoujo Ore doesn’t shy away from sexual humor even without trespassing the limits, and this episode is a good example of this. Definitely, the onsen situation is funny enough and fits perfectly this anime’s theme! What would you do in Saki’s situation??
After the training camp gets attacked by super villains, Midoriya faces Muscular, a villain with the power to manipulate muscle fibers, making him incredibly strong. Midoriya already attacked at 100% and broke his arm once and in the very last second, while Muscular had him down, Kota uses his power (water!) to district muscular, allowing Midoriya to go into full Shounen trope mode and attack at 1,000,000%! Of course, his arm is now the equivalent of a wind sock…
Midoriya uses All-for-One on his legs an Takes Kota back to Eraser to care for him and to relay a message to Mandalay. When Eraser sees Midoriya’s arm, he reminds him that it’s a violation to use their powers, but clearly, there was no other option. Eraser then tells Midoriya to also tell Mandalay that he is allowing them all to use their powers because of the situation. Modoriya, on his super-hero high, runs straight to Mandalay (with his flailing arm) and she makes the announcement: Everyone is free to use their powers! And now things get serious. Even more so when the second message is relayed… the target is none other than Bakugo! Dun dun dun...
Now, with their limiters removed and with a specific person to protect, the students and teachers of UA High School are ready to go 1,000,000% too! The momentum is certainly building up and it only gets more intense after that when the students start giving it their all! Let’s do this kids!
