With a new year, an array of new horoscopes comes as well. While these are exciting for us to read about our own personality and predictions, we rarely think about anime characters having birthdays outside of the stray birthday episodes that we see here and there. In order to fully recognize these characters, we have decided to put together a list that commended them on their top traits according to each horoscope sign. To start the year, we will begin with Capricorn. Capricorns are known for their leadership, ambitiousness, patience and discipline. However, they also display traits of stubbornness, shyness and are often self-centered.
The characters in anime and people in real life that are born under the Capricorn sign are often seen in positions of power because they are sure of their motives and do not back down easily. This is true in the following characters as well. This list is ranked for how well each of the male characters born under this sign displays the characteristics that define a Capricorn. While many of these characters are powerful, it is important to also analyze the details for the important aspects that shine through even the most apparently weak Capricorn character. Ambition and leadership can take many different forms and strength is not always synonymous with power.
10. Shin-Ah from Akatsuki no Yona (Yona of the Dawn)
- Episodes: 24
- Aired: October 2014 - March 2015
As stated above, leadership takes many forms and thus is the case with Shin-Ah with a birthday on January 3rd. He follows Princess Yona but demonstrates discipline and patience more than any other in his party. He is one of the most loyal in the group and demonstrates this countless times in the anime. Shin-Ah is a person who inspires loyalty in others through his silence.
His strange and distant demeanor makes him all the more interesting. Even when Shin-Ah was still with his original tribe who despised him, he followed their culture and protected them when necessary. Shin-Ah is a character who is inspiring, not only to members in his party, but to us as well. He demonstrates devotion but also is hindered by his shyness. He reminds us that even powerful characters have flaws and insecurities.

With the incredible power of hypnosis, Sotaro uses his power to make the other members of the student council unproductive and as a result, impedes Misaki’s progress. While he may not be the ideal match for Misaki, he puts up a good fight that is constantly getting in the way of progress at school. By rising to the occasion and becoming student council president, Sotaro earns a well-deserved spot on our list.

7. Hades Aidoneus from Kamigami no Asobi
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: April 2014 - June 2014

For example, Hades would be the head of the underworld and need to command all of those in his realm. However, in this anime, Hades has grown tired of his responsibilities and finds his job tedious and monotonous. His stubbornness and drive is waning and we see the more self-centered side of him come though.
Hades is a great example of the more hedonistic aspects of a Capricorn. Yui, the main character in Kamigami no Asobi, appeals to Hades’ better nature and teaches him to find meaning in his position. She convinces him that leadership is suited to him and that immortality does not mean an endless and meaningless existence.

By overcoming his grudges towards the villagers, Gaara learns to coexist and even to protect those who were once so cruel to him. While Gaara may not be the most ambitious character on this list, he is one of the most compelling because he is able to overcome his own weaknesses of shyness and stubbornness and make peace and thrive with the villagers. These traits make him an admirable Capricorn that should not be ignored.
5. Erenfried from Neo Angelique Abyss
- Episodes: 13
- Aired: April 2008 - June 2008

Only towards the end does he truly understand what he is fighting for and what is important making him an admirable member of his family.
