This anime shows quite a reversal of roles as to who is really the damsel in distress.

When Izetta was a child, her life was saved by the Archduchess Ortfine, ever since then she has felt indebted to her. She is able to move things just by touching them briefly. She is seen throughout the show wielding a battalion of swords or javelins that move according to her wishes. Her witch’s broom is also not the standard brush but instead she is often pictured flying on the back of a huge rifle that is strong enough to take down an airplane. Yuuko Ichihara is a powerful time and space witch who can be seen within two different series; in the Clamp universe story of Tsubasa, and also within her own anime, xxxHolic. In both of these stories, she is a strong force to be reckoned with. In the story of xxxHolic she acts as the overseer for the main character, Watanuki, and helps him gain control of his ability to see demons and teaches him the importance of their spiritual awareness. She is eccentric but kind and really cares for Watanuki.
In the story of Tsubasa, we can really see how powerful Yuuko is. She has the ability to send people to multiple worlds. Because of this, she has been given the title, The Dimensional Witch. She demonstrates this ability when she sends Syaoran, Fay, Kurogane and Sakura all from their respective worlds in the Clamp universe to retrieve Sakura’s lost memories. Yuuko Ichihara is really one of a kind, and has no equal when it comes to world jumping witches.

She will grant your wish, but beware of the consequences. The Golden Witch Beatrice has many titles, such as The Endless Witch. The family is at a loss when Beatrice demands all of the money that she gave their father returned to her, but gives them one chance. If they can solve her riddle, or her game, they can keep all of the money. Beatrice is on this list not only for her evil nature, but also for her level of power. She is able to summon demons to aid her, has been alive for thousands of years, and can change the world according to her will. We think it would be best to just let her keep the money.
2. Walpurgisnacht from Puella Magi Madoka Magica (Mahou Shoujo Madoka★Magica)
- Episodes: 12
- Aired: Jan 7, 2011 to Apr 22, 2011
One of the most iconic magical girl anime in recent years. Madoka has reinvigorated the magical girl and witch genre with its moe characteristics and dark themes. The show follows a young girl as she decides to become a magical girl with a group of her friends so she can protect people. These magical girls risk their lives to fight creatures known as witches that bring despair and death to those around them, they can also cause mass suicides and illness in people that are close to them. There is a deceptively happy start to this show that then makes a complete 180 in tone and theme.
At the end of the series (SPOILER ALERT!) Madoka has to fight the strongest known witch, Walpurgisnacht. There was a legend that the strongest witch would come and destroy the world. It is theorized to be an amalgamation of many witches put together. Madoka’s friend Homera goes back in time dozens of times but is still unable to defeat the witch. Dozens of time lines and earths are lost to the Walpurgisnacht. Walpurgisnacht definitely makes the top 10 strongest witch list because it has destroyed the world several times and yet nothing can stop it. Not until Madoka makes her wish, that it never existed in the first place.
1.Satella from Re:ZERO -Starting Life in Another World
A world where you cannot die sounds pretty good, right? But Subaru Natsuki would definitely tell you otherwise. Subaru wakes up one day to find himself in a strange land of magic, knights, and witches. After an unfortunate incident, he realizes that every time he dies, he gets reset back to an earlier point in time. He is essentially immortal. This is because he has been cursed by the great witch Satella.
Although, never seen throughout the anime, Satella has been the overarching enemy of this realm for hundreds of years, even mention of her name brings bystanders’ rage down upon you. So being cursed by her to die in many horrible and tragic ways over and over is not something to be happy about. With a horde of followers, deadly demons, and her own near-omnipotent magic, Satella has been controlling this world without much trouble over the centuries, and it looks like she will continue to do so for many centuries to come. She is number one on our list because she was able to transport Subaru from his own world, bring him back from the dead many times, change timelines when doing so, and is just a total, all-powerful and unstoppable being.
