Introduction
Kasuga Arata is a lot of things: a high school boy, future demon lord, horny pervert. Above all, he’s honest, and the world he’s living in is a lie. He has believed for some time that he and his cousin, Hijiri Kasuga, were living out a daily boring life of going to school, running a household and taking care of each other. The dream is shattered when he is confronted by a big-busted girl with a long-barreled gun. He finds out his cousin is gone and he’s been living in an illusion. Arata isn’t even fazed. He is enrolled by Lilith, a prodigy and teacher, in the Royal Biblia Academy (think sexy Hogwarts) with the goal of becoming the greatest mage in the world. His goal is to bring his cousin back from the otherworldly dimension she vanished into. He’s told by the school’s headmaster that he needs to surround himself with the members of the Trinity Seven. The Trinity Seven are the most powerful mages at the school. The group also happens to be all girls, and all hot as sin in their own unique ways. Arata also has a code: he believes that girls look best when smiling and he will do almost anything to make sure they do. Arata makes no apologies for who he is, a girl-crazy high school boy. He has overwhelming confidence that is never shaken, no matter who or what he faces and whether that confidence is justified or not. Trinity Seven is unabashedly ecchi and each episode is filled with a lot of classic risqué material. We now begin our countdown of the top of the top five ecchi moments in Trinity Seven.
5. Episode 1

We set the pace for the ecchi within 30 seconds of the open, though there are shows that have done it in under 10. Arata, as if guided by fate, reaches out for Hijiri in his sleep and ends up grabbing the boob of a very awake Hijiri. He justifiably gets smacked and yet doesn’t apologize, only commenting on how his cousin is filling out. We only use that example to set the stage for the first episode. The second is an odd version of a bath encounter with the opposite sex. After a long day of settling into school, Arata heads to the clearly marked men’s bath. He enters the steam-filled room to see a girl standing naked in front of him and after a brief introduction of “hello,” he calmly walks over to the stool to lather up. The girl, still naked, then walks over to him and says “that’s not the shampoo” and points to the other bottle informing him the second bottle is shampoo. He takes a pause, then freaks, “you’re supposed to say Eek! Or something!” She stands takes a breath then says in a soft monotone voice, “eeeeek.” Arata then runs out of the bath and into Lilith in the hallway who screams at him to put clothes on. He replies with a big smile as if delivering the punchline to the entire scene, “that’s the right reaction.”
4. Episode 6

Liese Sherlock is a sexy twin-tailed blonde haired self-described evil mage and former member of the Trinity Seven. She left the school a year ago, rejecting the status quo to continue her research with the goal of gathering enough power to become a demon lord candidate herself. She confronts the remaining members of the group in the ruins of the Eternal Library. She does her best to entice Arata to join her on the side of evil. She tells him they can’t very well do bad things together with their teacher watching. Liese also explains that she could help him reunite with Hijiri. She isn’t bad at using her body to entice him, wearing the flyaway halter top and long boots with short shorts. She has immense power as a mage and has a unique skill that lets her steal other mages’ power by kissing them. She first starts out by locking lips with her twin sister and slowly sucking the magic out of her. Liese then finds a way with her teleporting ability to lay a nice long one on Arata. Not only was it rather sloppy but it was also her first kiss with a guy. The kissing is nice, the ecchi moment continues when she uses Arata’s power to dispel magic. Did we mention the uniforms of most of the girls are made up of magic? Liese snaps her fingers and the girls’ clothes explode off their wearers giving the viewer a buffet of bodies for the ogling.
3. Episode 5

If you’ve ever lived in a dorm you understand the absolute luxury of privacy. The ultimate privacy is having a private room just like Arata. Oh, the things you can do when you can lock the door and not worry about a roommate. You can sleep peacefully without getting woken up by your roommate trudging across the floor, unlocking the door in the middle of the night and slamming it behind them as they to go to the bathroom. You also get to be left alone. Arata, despite having a private room does have a problem with girls sneaking… oh the envy…. In episode five we start with a tight shot of an awake Arata in bed, he then says, “so, I wake up and there is a cute, naked loli next to me.” The naked girl cuddled up to his right side is Yui who is absolutely in love with him. Arin, the girl he met in the bath and didn’t provide a suitable reaction to and claims to be his wife, is naked and asleep on his other side. When Lilith walks into make sure he gets to class on time he has a eureka moment. He pulls Arin closer to make space on the bed and shouts, “come on in.” We know Lilith declines and we may not get to see much, but we can imagine a whole lot. We are also left with one question, why didn’t this ever happen to me?
2. Episode 3

What happens when you destroy your school as part of an experiment? You get punished. Arin and Arata are condemned to working at a food stand on a south islands beach as a result of their experiment. Why a south islands beach? The headmaster decides to relocate the school to a southern island while the school is being repaired. The best part of an episode of set on a southern island beach is… you guessed it, swimsuits. The girls, all the girls, are in their swimsuits. The background characters are even in their swimsuits. You get eye candy everywhere. You get to see ever adorable Selina Sherlock in a green one piece, Levi the ninja in a black two piece, Arin with her flat chest in the form fitting school swimsuit. The piece de resistance is a fantasy concocted by Levi and Selina about an encounter between Arata and Lilith -- an ongoing theme in their conversations. We see a slightly embarrassed Lilith laying on a beach towel with her hand holding her red bikini top against her chest as the string dangles down. We hear her ask for Arata to help by putting lotion on her back. The visual quickly changes to Arata clutching her breasts from behind and her voice feigning a protest. We lament that we don’t get this fantasy nearly long enough. We do get to see Lilith in her sexy string bikini most of the episode if that’s any consolation.
1. Episode 2

The number one ecchi scene is in episode two and has to do a lot with a different kind of number one. Arata is just finally settling to his room at the Royal Biblia Academy in when Lilith corners him in his room. It isn’t long until Levi pulls back her camouflage and repels from the ceiling (pretty cool, she’s a ninja you know). A few seconds later Selina appears, camera in hand, climbing out from under Arata’s covers trying to get an interview for the school paper. The three girls in the room with Arata isn’t a problem, it’s actually an enviable situation for most of us. The problem isn’t even when they realize that someone trapped them in the room with a magical barrier preventing their escape. Arata and the three other mages should easily be able to figure out the key to dispelling the barrier given time. The problem is his room has no bathroom. Lilith, our steadfast teacher, is the first to crumble on the floor afraid to move for fear of having an accident. The second is our ninja who did her best to conceal her need to pee. Selina, slightly disgusted at the incapacitated pair, asks Lilith and Levi “Are you trying to be heroines whose biggest appeal is pee?” In revenge for the statement Selina is tricked by Levi into being hypnotized, and quickly feels the pressure to go. Arata uses all his mental power to figure out how to dispel the barrier and like a true hero rushes the damsels out the door to the bathroom. He finds out that Arin set it up to test him. He wasn’t mad at her for the imprisonment, saying with glee, “I got to see the bizarrely appealing sight of three hot girls trying their hardest not to pee themselves.” The scene may not be classically ecchi, boobs and panty shots, but it is ecchi because no one ever said a risqué scene has to be about sex and nudity.
Final Thoughts
Trinity Seven, like Arata, makes no apologies for being ecchi. The story has all the girls you could want: a ninja, two strict security officers, a couple of dirty minded lolis, a hot tsundere sensei and two twin-tailed blondes (who are twins!). The variety of girls aside, Trinity Seven is a fast-paced adventure that doesn’t seem to get too bogged down in overcomplicated plots or filler episodes. We get a look at the girls wearing swimsuits in the third episode; sometimes you have to have to wait until episode 7 or 8 before a fan service episode like that. We even revisit the girls in their sexy swim suited glory a second time later in the series. What we are saying is Trinity Seven offers a lot to the viewer, right down to a protagonist like Arata who says aloud every dirty thought that crosses our minds.
