Uhmm... sorry to ask, but doesn't it feel a bit too generic? Like a mix of Sword Art Online and Gantz?

Well, now you put it that way, you may be right, but still! It gets better with time!

All I have to say is that I'm intrigued about this girl Rachel, so I'll give it a try, but all these football references are weird as hell. How is Kun Aguero one of the main characters??!

Three Episode Impressions

When you're dealing with such a convoluted story, 3 episodes may not be enough to explain all you have in mind, but it's worse if you rush the plot and butcher some relevant scenes here and there. That's one of our issues with Tower of God, an anime that so far, feels nothing but full of unnecessary cliches, metaphors, and pseudo-symbolism. Ergo, it looks like everything happens just because but at the same time, we're forced to look forward to a lot of shocking revelations, while still enjoying these tests.

If you're curious about why Tower of God is one of the most hyped webtoons out there, then maybe that's reason enough to continue watching this anime. If that's not the case, you may have a hard time coping with all the info shown in these 3 episodes, and the rough art-style may not be of help either. So far, there's nothing unique to Tower of God, so we recommend reading SIU's story for a better understanding of what's happening here.
