Synopsis
Once, there was a "Giant of Light" who fought against the threats of giant monsters and invading aliens to keep the Earth in a state of peace. His name was Ultraman. Time has passed since he left Earth after completing his mission as Hayata, a member of the Science Special Search Party (SSSP), and humanity has entered an era of prosperity. However, it was only an ostensible peace... Now, when the power of the "Giant of Light" is once again required, a new hero who has inherited the factor of light appears. But he was no giant. He was a life-size, troubled high school student in a reinforced suit with a metallic body... His name is Shinjiro Hayata. A new story of the son of Shin Hayata, the former Ultraman, who struggles to become the Ultraman of a new generation begins now!

Shinjiro Hayata / ULTRAMAN: Ryouhei Kimura
The protagonist of the anime, son of Shin Hayata, the former Ultraman. He has superhuman powers because he inherited the Ultraman factor that was left in Hayata's body. In order to save his father, he wears the Ultraman Suit and fights against the enemy, later becoming involved with the Science Patrol. On the inside, he is a very ordinary high school boy who takes a liking to his idol, Rena Sayama.
Dan Moroboshi / SEVEN: Takuya Eguchi
He is a young man who belongs to the SSSP. Though having the looks of a human being, he actually is an alien. Like Shinjiro, he wears the ULTRAMAN SUIT ver. 7 (a.k.a. the Seven Suit) to fight. Unlike Shinjiro, he is characterized by a relentless fighting style toward his opponents.
Seiji Hokuto / ACE: Megumi Han
He is a first-year student at the same high school as Shinjiro. He is an altered human who was operated on by an alien when a large part of his body was damaged in a major accident, and fights in a reinforced suit (commonly known as the "Ace Suit"), also developed by the alien. Knowing that the Ultraman's true identity is Shinjiro, he calls Shinjiro and his friends "big brother" and "senpai" and wants to join the SSSP, but at the same time extorts money from criminals to fund his activities.
Shin Hayata: Hideyuki Tanaka
He is the Minister of Defense and the father of Shinjiro. When he was once a member of the SSSP, he had assimilated with Ultraman to protect the Earth, but he had lost his memories of those times. As a remnant of his assimilation, he has superhuman physical abilities. During the battle with Bemlar, he gets into a desperate situation but is saved by Shinjiro.
Rena Sayama: Sumire Moroboshi
Her real name is Rena Endo. A super popular idol. Although she professes to be a fan of Ultraman, she actually lost her mother in a battle between Ultraman and aliens not long after she was born, and she has a strong hatred for Ultraman in her heart. However, when Shinjiro (Ultraman) saves her from being caught up in an alien incident, her feelings begin to change little by little.
