5 Anime To Watch This Summer 2021

Summer is a time when we crave cool things like no other time of the year. And guess what has a lot of cool stuff this year? The Summer Anime of 2021, of course! Summer anime is back with full force and we’re all excitedly watching our favorite anime at Honey’s Anime. Can’t decide which Summer Anime you should watch this year? Don’t worry, we’ve got you. Here are our favorite anime of this season!

5. Shinigami Bocchan to Kuro Maid (The Duke of Death and His Maid)

The Duke of Death and His Maid follows the life of a duke who was cursed from a very young age by a witch: anything he touches will die. Scorned by his family, he is sent to live in isolation, away from everyone except two people: his butler and his maid, Alice. As the duke and Alice fall in love, they must do so without touching each other through it all. Thus starts the tragic tale of a duke with an unfortunate curse and a maid who cannot touch her loved one.

The Duke of Death and His Maid has a really great premise set in the Victorian era. The story follows the antics of Alice who is irresistibly flirtatious but the duke must hold himself back lest he kills her with his touch. This anime is a lot similar to Karakai Jouzo no Takagi-san (Teasing Master Takagi-san) and if you’re a fan of the classic, this anime is a must watch!

4. Kobayashi-San Chi no Maid Dragon S (Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid S)

There is not a dull day in the Kobayashi household as Tooru continues to strive to become the best maid and a massive landslide is found at the exact spot that Tooru and Kobayashi met indicating the might of a dragon. As the duo try to search for the perpetrator, she descends from the skies: Illulu, the radical Chaos Dragon with powers that rival Tooru. With another dragon in the mix, there is only going to be more troubles for Kobayashi!

Miss Kobayashi’s Dragon Maid was extremely beloved when it came out in 2017 and guess what? It still slaps! The comedy in this anime is like no other and even though it incorporates a lot of running gags from the previous season, we still found ourselves laughing a lot at Honey’s Anime. Combined with wholesome content, this anime is definitely a must watch!

3. Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta... X (My Next Life As A Villainess: All Routes Lead To Doom! X

Our favorite Catarina Claes is back with more antics in season 2 of My Next Life As A Villaines: All Routes Lead To Doom! X! With no more death flags in sight, Catarina and her friends are saved and she’s determined to enjoy her time in this world surrounded by all her friends and family. But the game Fortune Lover is still not over and new characters continue to show up, each with their own intentions. What will happen when Catarina cannot remember what happens next?

My Next Life As A Villainess is a great anime and was deeply beloved in Spring 2020 by almost everyone because it perfectly united the genres of isekai and romance. Besides, who doesn’t love a dense female protagonist who cannot see how much everyone around her is in love with her and will continue to think the opposite? Catarina Claes is that and more. This anime will definitely make you laugh till your stomach hurts, cry at the fact that Catarina is so dense but overall, be happy that you get to join this journey as she figures out this game of life in a new world.

2. Uramichi Oniisan (Life Lessons with Uramichi-Oniisan)

Uramichi Oniisan is the story of a depressed and deeply nihilistic man called Uramichi who works as a star in a children’s show. Suffice to say, Uramichi deeply loves the kids that come on his show, “Together with Mama” and that’s why he can’t help but teach them the harsh realities of the world with a smile. Along with Utano Tadano, a singer who simply wants to get married, and Iketeru Daga, a handsome man with really crass humor, no two days are the same on this show as the adults try to balance being cheerful and happy for their audience while battling with their own failures in life.

Uramichi Oniisan is, hands down, the best comedy of this season. Every single episode in this anime is filled with a lot of puns but you don’t necessarily have to be Japanese to understand all of them. There is a lot of wordplay but there are even more funny gags that just keep us rolling on the floor at Honey’s Anime. Watching Uramichi respond to the various challenges of life is extremely relatable but also really funny and we’re sure you’ll love it too!

1. Tensei Shittara Slime Datta Ken Season 2 Part 2 (That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime Season 2 Part 2)

This anime really needs no introduction but here we go! With Tempest’s battle with the Blumund army coming to an end, there is a lot of reason to celebrate at Tempest. However, politics need to be sorted out to ensure the stability of Tempest and Rimuru meets with all his allies to figure out the future of Tempest. With Milim’s suspicious activities, Carrion’s disappearance and Clayman out to be awakened as a true Demon Lord, there are a lot of problems that Rimuru needs to deal with. Will his newly awakened powers as a Demon Lord be enough?

That Time I Got Reincarnated As A Slime is everyone’s favorite isekai and the plot just keeps getting thicker and thicker. With fan favorite characters like Veldora returning and new characters like Daiblo, TenSura has a little bit of everything for you to enjoy this summer from funny moments to intense plot points that keep you on your toes. And wouldn’t you agree that a normal slime is possibly the coolest thing for the summer heat? Pun intended of course! So don’t forget to catch up on this hell of an isekai!

Anime and writing have and always will be a huge part of my life.
