5 Relaxing Fall Anime That Made 2020 a Bit Less Awful

With the fall anime season wrapping up we can all agree 2020 ending is a blessing. This year has been incredibly tiring and quite rough but luckily anime has allowed us to relax and unwind after dealing with the everyday stresses. That’s why we felt it necessary here at Honey’s Anime to find the most relaxing anime that aired this fall season. These shows will allow you to just unwind after a long day of life and lose yourself in the wonderful world of anime.

5. Adachi to Shimamura (Adachi and Shimamura)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2020 – Currently Airing

A good romance anime will allow you to lose yourself in the story of the characters. However, some romances can be so draining to watch as they ebb between being extremely realistic and/or overly dramatic. Adachi to Shimamura acts like a nice middle as it’s a simple romance story—that can be quite relatable for the younger audiences despite the inclusion of an alien—all while being cute and not overly dramatic. For shoujo Ai fans, Adachi to Shimamura will be a nice escape from the current worldly dramas that currently plague us.

4. Yuukoku no Moriarty (Moriarty the Patriot)

  • Episodes: 11
  • Aired: October 2020 – Currently Airing

Relaxing can be done in a multitude of ways but sometimes the best way to unwind after a long workday or tiring day of online school is to lose yourself in a good mystery. Moriarty the Patriot has consistently been keeping us guessing as we join the “anti-hero” William James Moriarty and his cohorts as they solve strange cases and deal with various dramas. Losing ourselves in the mysteries each week has been a nice way of forgetting about 2020 all while enjoying an amazing anime series from Production I.G. Be sure to let us know in the comments which mystery has been your favorite from Moriarty the Patriot!

3. Tonikaku Kawaii (TONIKAWA: Over the Moon For You)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2020 – Currently Airing

Another solid romance comedy anime began airing this fall in the form of TONIKAWA: Over the Moon For You and we were genuinely surprised how endearing this show has been. We love the relationship between Nasa and Tsukasa and equally enjoy seeing their romance only grow as the series moves forward. TONIKAWA: Over the Moon For You wraps up near the middle of December so now is the time for you to binge the series on Crunchyroll!

2. Majo no Tabitabi (Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2020 – Currently Airing

Unfortunately, the otaku who like to travel and explore the world have found 2020 to be almost akin to a prison sentence due to our current world climate. Thankfully, Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina has allowed us to live alongside Elaina and explore a magical world of adventure from the comfort of our chairs! Wandering Witch: The Journey of Elaina might have magical fights and various magical trials and tribulations for our cast but we never found this series to be too wild or intense. We think you fans of cute magical girls—who aren’t killing one another like in some series—will love to wander the world with Elaina and escape your current realm for at least a half hour.

1. Maoujou de Oyasumi (Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2020 – Currently Airing

Hands down the most relaxing and calming anime of 2020—period—has been Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle. This is one of those anime series that you can watch day or night and just chill alongside our semi-narcoleptic princess. There’s tons of comedy, goofy drama and—of course—sleeping to be found in Sleepy Princess in the Demon Castle and we can’t ask for a better series to just forget what ails us this year.

Final Thoughts

This year has felt very much like a drama anime series. We have had to deal with problem after problem worldwide and it can be consuming, to say the least. Luckily, anime has given us a means of escape and with these relaxing shows we can all remember that as long as anime exists we should be able to deal with any problem life throws at us! Hey everyone I’m Aaron Curbelo or Blade as I’m called by my YouTube Subscribers. I’ve been an anime/manga fan since I was a young kid. In terms of anime I have watched nearly a thousand shows and have read hundreds of manga series. I love writing and honestly was so happy to join Honey’s Anime to get a shot to write articles for such a wonderful site. I’m a firm believer in respect in the anime community being the most important embodiment we should all have. We all love anime and we have varying opinions of series but we should respect one another for those differences! Life is too precious to spend it making needless arguments in a community that should be the shining example of loving an amazing medium. I hope as a writer for Honey’s Anime I can bring you folks some amazing articles to read and enjoy!
