Seth’s most defining feature is his trademark ability: Titan Punch. It’s a simple technique which sees him gathering fantasia into his fist and channeling it into a destructive and powerful strike. Although straightforward, this is a unique ability because no other sorcerer can use magic without having to channel it into an item or a weapon. He’s often criticized for how simple his ability is and his lack of range as a sorcerer beyond it but also revered by his peers and mentors because of how unique of a trait this skill is.

Sorcerers are alienated by society because of their odd looks and the fact that they have been infected by Nemesis. Many people fear that they will be infected by sorcerers if they come into physical contact with them but that has been proven to be a lie. Unfortunately for Seth, he and Alma—his caretaker—have been ostracized everywhere they have gone because of their identity as sorcerers. Seth has been physically bullied by ordinary villagers because of the horns on his head that indicate he’s a sorcerer and, as a result, has found few friends.

No one, neither Seth nor Alma, knows about Seth’s past. Alma woke up next to Seth in a doctor’s bed with no recollection of how they got there or who they were. They began journeying across the world to try and find hints about their identities but could never come to an answer. After an incident nearly had Seth executed by a mob of villagers because of his infection, Alma decided to forget about rediscovering her past and chose to simply raise Seth as best as she could. Seth hasn’t indicated much interest in uncovering his origins either, he seems very much satisfied with having grown up under Alma’s care.

Because of all the discrimination Seth has felt growing up as a sorcerer, he has the ambition to destroy all Nemesis. His original goal was simply to go from town to town and destroying Nemesis as many sorcerers do but those goals changed upon learning about Radiant. Although it’s a myth and few believe in its existence, Seth was immediately smitten by the idea and has made it his goal to reach Radiant, the place where Nemesis are made or born, and destroying it. Considering no one knows if it’s actually real and Seth still has a long way to go before he’s even capable of such a journey, we imagine we won’t be seeing Radiant anytime soon.

Seth has shown the common trait of shounen protagonist of being impulsive. In the very first episode, he destroys a barn in his desperate desire to show his friend his magical abilities. When an eggs lands in the town he and Alma are staying by, he takes the task of facing off with the Nemesis without any hesitation. Even though he doesn’t know any magical skill aside from Titan Punch, he doesn’t take twice about his first battle with the creature. This is something we see recurring again and again throughout the series no matter what challenge he’s facing.
