1. Akagami no Shirayuki-hime (Snow White with the Red Hair)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: July 2015 – September 2015

Shirayuki has a life as an herbalist in her home country. When her bright red hair earns her the invitation/order to become a concubine for her country's first prince, what's a girl to do? Shirayuki closes shop and leaves a ponytail of red locks for the prince's soldiers. Now on the run, Shirayuki makes friends with some people who turn out to be the second prince and his personal guard for the neighboring country where she has fled. Shirayuki starts a new life and looks to earn a spot, with her own skillset, to stay near her new friend.

Snow White with the Red Hair has that slow-burn relationship that is dominating Saint's Magic Power. Shirayuki and Prince Zen are gaga for each other, but between his royal status and her wanting to succeed without his assistance, the romance burns on all season. Like Sei from Saint's Magic Power, Shirayuki starts a new life in a new country and wants to use her abilities to survive in this world. Everyone loves a leading lady who can take care of herself, so if you already like Sei's adventure, check out Snow White with the Red Hair!

2. Kenja no Mago (Wise Man's Grandchild)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: April 2019 - June 2019

Shin Wolford has grown up in the countryside with his grandfather. His grandfather teaches Shin magic and how to use it to provide for himself. Unknown to anyone but Shin, he retains memories of a past life, where he had in-depth knowledge of elementary science. Shin puts his past life's know-how of scientific principles and uses it to enhance the magic he learns, so he becomes entirely overpowered! Shin gets perspective by going to school to understand both the common sense his grandfather forgot to teach and how strong he is.

While the story centers around the group of friends Shin makes, he meets a girl he likes. Their combined awkwardness causes their feelings for each other to be known to every around, except them! If you want the slow-burn romance of Saint's Magic Power, give this title a look! Wise Man's Grandchild is much less mature than Saint's Magic Power, and it has comedy, which always keeps things light. There are also some excellent magic fight scenes, so take a look at Shin's fun adventure!

3. Otome Game no Hametsu Flag shika Nai Akuyaku Reijou ni Tensei shiteshimatta... (My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom!)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: April 2020 – June 2020

Katarina is a bratty girl, until one day in her childhood when she hits her head. In that bonk, Katarina remembers another world and a past life. She remembers her character's life in a game she used to play, and then remembers what turns out to be some bad news. Katarina's character dies in the game! Taking her destiny into her own hands, Katarina looks to take every step she can to make herself into someone others would definitely not want to kill.

My Next Life as a Villainess: All Routes Lead to Doom! is another reincarnation isekai. Like Saint's Magic Power, this main character looks to do the most good she can, even if their motivations are different. Also similar to how Sei has no idea that her actions are looked at as courting with Captain Hawke, Katarina is sought after by most of her friends, and she is so concerned with not dying that she doesn't even notice it. This title is a reverse harem with plenty of comedy, so it is a light watch. It is a perfect time to catch up on this My Next Life as a Villainess because season two is coming in 2021!

4. Honzuki no Gekokujou: Shisho ni Naru Tame ni wa Shudan wo Erandeiraremasen (Ascendance of a Bookworm)

  • Episodes: 14
  • Aired: October 2019 – December 2019

When the main character of this reincarnation-isekai dies, the book lover has almost completed her goal of becoming a librarian, and she wishes to read even more in her next life. Somehow, she wakes up as five-year-old Myne, who has a weak body and lives in the medieval era. When she tries to look for literature, it becomes apparent that there is no common paper production, let alone printing presses and books. Mayne then makes it her mission to bridge that gap, become literate, and stay the book lover she already is!

In Ascendance of a Bookworm, the main character solves her problems. No paper? That is only true until Mayne learns how to make it! Though she doesn't succeed at everything she does (what child does?) Mayne gets back up and tries again. The determination in the main character is admirable and makes for a more enjoyable watch. This is not the title to check out if you're looking for fight scenes, but for someone who likes the 'learning to live in a new world experience,' this could be for you! Relax with the fun adventures in Ascendance of a Bookworm.

5. Code:Realize - Sousei no Himegimi (Code:Realize ~Guardian of Rebirth~)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: October 2017 – December 2017

Like a doll, Cardia quietly sleeps alone in an abandoned manor. Who bursts through her door, disturbing her solitude? After being forced out of her home by a royal guard, Cardia is taken away. If being taken away once wasn't enough, Cardia is kidnapped from her kidnappers by the Gentleman Thief, Arsène Lupin. Cardia is then whisked away to a mansion where she meets a handsome group of rebels, looking to keep some powers out of the possession of royalty. Their adventure has mysterious ties to Cardia's father and her own want to learn more.

Both Cardia and Sei are somewhat shy main characters whose powers cannot be regulated. Sei's powers keep healing people, and she has no control over how all of her cooking heals. Cardia's very being is poisonous, and she cannot keep it from happening. A little more dramatic than Saint's Magic Power, Code:Realize is also an otome game! Because of that, all the male characters (and there are quite a few) are well fleshed-out and independently interesting. This steampunk-London-themed production has a lot of aesthetic appeal.

6. Meiji Tokyo Renka

  • Episodes: 12
  • Aired: January 2019 – March 2019

Mei Ayazuki is on her way home one night and winds up participating in some street magic. On this full moon, Mei disappears and cannot be found anywhere. She has gone back in time, into the Meiji era of Japan! As darkness settles, Mei encounters none other than Mori Ougai, and the famous historical character invites her to stay with him. From then until the next full moon, Mei spends her time in the past getting to know more of Japan's historical hotties!

If you love the slow burn of Saint's Magic Power, Meiji Tokyo Renka has the same theme of the main character going to a more reserved culture in their expressions of love. If you are looking for all the feels you live in the Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent, then you are in the right place. The reverse harem is similarly faint enough when not with the main romantic interest that Meiji Tokyo Renka reminds you of an otome game. If you love shoujo, this very swoony harem's romance is going to be for you.

Final Thoughts

The Saint's Magic Power is Omnipotent has been an excellent title to keep up with this season. It has a main character who all josei lovers can get behind. She is sweet, sincere, and rational enough to know that she has it good in her new world. We hope you found a title to check out while you wait for this next shoujo production's installment to come out. Have you seen these titles yet? Which one is next on your list?
