Code:Realize? Isn't this another one of those generic reverse harem anime?

Not even! This is a very popular otome game for the Vita. This will not end up being just another reverse harem anime. This has real danger and adventure!

Saori Hayami is doing Cardia's voice so you know it is going to be a really well-done role. Even if she spends a large amount of time being confused at first.

Honestly, I am getting Akatsuki no Yona vibes. Though more than anything else, it is really cool how she is actually dangerous and can kill people with the poison in her body.

Synopsis

I want to feel you. I want to feel your warmth.

Cardia is a girl who carries a virulent poison within her body that melts everything she touches.
Feared as a monster, she spends her days isolated from everything. One night, on the verge of being captured by the English army, she meets a thief/gentleman, known as Arséne Lupin.

He guides her to the city of copper machines, London. She encounters various people there and an unexpected adventure opens up before her.

Before long, she begins to work with Lupin. While this is going on, the mystery of her own body and lost memories begin to draw close.

The truth and a wish that this girl, called a monster, arrives at is….

Three Episode Impression

Cardia has a poison running through her body that is so lethal, that if she touches someone with her bare skin, they will start to melt. That does include human flesh too. So, she is kept away from society and feared as a monster. When the English Army, at the command of an organization known as Tasogare (twilight), comes for her, she is saved by a mysterious man known as Arseneé Lupin. The greatest thief, he whisks her away to his hideout in London where he and his allies all work together against Tasogare. Bit by bit, she learns more about the outside world, which she knew nothing about, as well as more about herself and what human contact is like.

While at first glance, this seems like it would be another trashy reverse harem, it is anything but! Code Realize really caught us off guard this season for having actually good action scenes as well as a solid character lineup and believable storyline. Go figure, but hey, even if you are not a reverse harem fan, you could get into this if you like romance. Plus, the heavy use of steampunk elements is a strong bonus in our book. Check it out!

Characters & Voice Actors List

Cardia

Voice Actor: Saori Hayami

Carida is a girl who is referred to as a monster and carries a virulent poison within her body that melts everything she touches. She has lost all memories about herself starting two years ago. She does not show much of a change in her emotions and facial expressions. On the verge of being captured by the English army, she is stolen away by Arséne Lupin. She then begins to work with Lupin and his allies.

Arséne Lupin

Voice Actor: Tomoaki Maeno

Arséne is a great thief who enjoys causing problems and claims that there is nothing that cannot be stolen. Bright and optimistic, he is very confident. Backing that up are his thievery skills and his ability to take action. He was the one who stole Cardia away from the English army when she was about to be captured and now he has begun to work with her. He seems as if he has some sort of goal in mind.

Abraham Van Helsing

Voice Actor: Junichi Suwabe

Abraham is a former member of the secret intelligence organization Tasogare (twilight). Possessing excellent combat skills, he is called the human weapon. If it is for his own goals, then he will use any method possible, and he has a side to him where he can be described as cold. He is going after the head of Tasogare, Finis, but the reason why is unknown.

Victor Frankenstein

Voice Actor: Tetsuya Kirihara

Victor is an elite who holds the title of former Head Alchemist of the Imperial Court for the English Government. He has an unparalleled amount of knowledge and intelligence. However he does not let that be overbearing as he is very gentle and kind. Due to some circumstances, he is now on a wanted list and the government is hunting him down.

Impey Barbicane

Voice Actor: Youtarou Morikubo

Impey is friendly and upbeat, often setting the mood for the group. His downside is that he does push his luck sometimes. However as an engineer, his talent lies in high-end goods. Everything from Lupin’s small tools and automobile, all the way to a ship that flies in the sky, are all his specialty. Calling him an engineering genius is truly fitting. Impey is also extraordinarily good at cooking.

Count Saint-Germain

Voice Actor: Daisuke Hirakawa

Count Saint-Germain is a noble who has taken residence in the city of copper machines, London. Giving the simple reason of ‘this seems interesting’, he becomes the patron for Lupin and his allies giving them both a place to stay as well as funding their activities. A complete gentleman, he has a gentle demeanor and constantly maintains a polite attitude. However, sometimes he does disappear to somewhere...

Finis

Voice Actor: Yuuki Kaji

Finis is the head of England’s secret intelligence organization Tasogare. Both his background and activities are shrouded in mystery. He is plotting on how to retrieve Cardia for himself.
