Kokonotsu Shikada lives with his father and he runs an old fashioned candy shop. Kokonotsu dreams of becoming a manga artist, but his father has other plans. He wants him to take over the family business! Then, one summer day, the cute yet strange Hotaru Shidare shows up. Hotaru is from a famous sweets company and wants to have Kononotsu’s father join them! The father agrees on one condition, Kotonotsu must take over the shop! So the task for Hotaru to convince Kokonotsu begins…

Kononotsu Shikada

Konkonotsu is the main character. He is a first year high school student living in the countryside. His father wants him to take over the sweets shop he runs but Kokonotsu has refused. He wants to be a manga artist.

Hotaru Shidare

Hotaru works for a big sweets company and is the representative to try and recruit Mr. Shiakada. She has come all the way from Tokyo to convince him. She wants to be the one who makes the best sweets in the world.

You Shikada

You runs the famous Dagashi sweets show and has to figure out a way to have his son take over the shop for him. It appears that his sweets are world famous.

Saya Endou

Voice Actor: Manami Nakamura

She is a friend of Kokonotsu. She happens to like him a lot. She is the younger sister of Tou.

Tou Endou

Voice Actor: Tatsuhisa Suzuki

Tou is Kokonotsu’s idiot friend. He is the older brother of Saya. He lives at Cafe Endou.

Hajime Owari

Voice Actor: Chinatsu Akasaki

Hajime has come to Shikada’s Dagashi Shop for a certain reason, and it is decided that she should work there. She is 20 years old.
