Whether you're into realistic workplace romance, young love, or fantasy action, there is definitely a show this season for you! Here, we'll be looking at the best three romance anime of the Fall 2021 season and why you should be watching them!

3. Senpai ga Uzai Kouhai no Hanashi (My Senpai is Annoying)

My Senpai is Annoying follows the life of Igarashi Futaba. Igarashi has been steadily progressing her office career thanks in part to the teachings of her senior coworker. The only downside is that the said coworker is a ruthless bully who loves nothing more than to pick on Igarashi whenever has the chance! Igarashi is a lot shorter than her peers and her insecurity about this makes for an easy target when it comes to Takeda's bullying. However, as the two deepen their relationship, it becomes clear that there is a lot more positivity bubbling beneath the surface.

As the anime progresses, Igarashi and Takeda try to navigate the steadily growing feelings they have for one another. At first, Takeda sees Igarashi as nothing more than a kouhai. He expresses to her that, should he ever marry and have a daughter, he would be happy if that child were like Igarashi. However, after Igarashi affirming that she is not a child and is, in fact, a grown adult, Takeda realizes that he had failed to see his potential soulmate standing right… four feet below him!

2. Taishou Otome Otogibanashi (Taisho Otome Fairytale)

Tamahiko Shima lives by himself in the mountains of Chiba. After losing most motor functionality in his right hand (in the same accident that took his mother's life), his family disowned him and forced him into exile. He spends his days wallowing in depression and reading to make the loneliness seem less oppressive. He has resigned himself to live out his days doing nothing to diminish his family name any further until he ultimately dies alone. However, Tamahiko is one night greeted by fourteen-year-old Yuzuki Tachibana who claims that she has come to be his future wife.

Although Tachibana was initially sold as a bride to repay her family's debts (bought out by Tamahiko's family), she is thoughtful, diligent, and attentive to all of Tamahiko's needs. Tamahiko slowly realizes that his pessimism is unfounded when spending time with someone he cares about and cares about him. As the series progresses, the two grow ever closer and Tamahiko allows himself to open up emotionally about his past and unwanted future.

1. Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita (Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside)

Shin no Nakama ja Nai to Yuusha no Party wo Oidasareta node, Henkyou de Slow Life suru Koto ni Shimashita (Banished from the Hero's Party, I Decided to Live a Quiet Life in the Countryside) is a romance anime that seems to be jumping on the bandwagon of ridiculously elongated names. Living far away from a horde of demons and the smell of war, a young and D-rank adventurer named Red lives out his peaceful existence. Red holds aspirations of opening his own apothecary shop and spending his days relaxing in the countryside. However, things take a turn when Red receives a live-in partner named Rit. Rit is a princess and an adventurer herself who gives up everything she has to join Red.

Despite Red being loved by all, he is in fact living a double life. He was originally banished from the "hero's" party for being too weak when taking down the Demon Lord. Now, although Rit has managed to find him and learn of his secret life, Red struggles to let go of his past. If you despise "wait and see" romances, this is the show for you. Red and Rit get together almost immediately and, instead of having to traipse through an entire series just to find some lovey-doveyness, nearly every episode here has these two lovebirds fawning over one another! If you enjoy fast-paced fantasy action and even faster-paced romance, Banished from the Hero's Party is the anime for you!
