1. The Main Character

Karou and Kogarashi share many similarities in both the attitudes and the ways they act. They are both kind to everyone they meet and are shown to be quite shy when interacting with the females living with them. Both characters also have pasts that they have worked hard to run away from by moving to new cities.

2. Great Side Characters

Both anime center around dealing with a house full of beautiful girls that all take a liking to their new male housemate. Each girl has her own quirk that makes them unique from each other. With the unique personalities and interesting designs, the girls really shine in every scene they are in.

3. Comedy and Drama

Comedy is one of the best parts of Ai Yori Aoshi and Yuragi-sou no Yuuna-san is able to deliver just as many laughs. The comedy in both series is largely centered around the ecchi scenes and how the girls react to Karou and Kogarashi, but also incorporate a good mix of other comedy as well. Outside of the comedy and ecchi, both series also have a but of drama and emotional scenes to give you a well-balanced story.

1. Kind and Caring Landlord

When Karou and Aki find themselves having to move into new homes, they don't have to go at it alone. Aoi and Ayaka end up being the landlords for the boys and help them out with everything from cooking for them to supporting them through trying times. Although Aoi and Ayaka are supportive for different reasons, their kind and caring natures make them very similar and help make both anime much more enjoyable.

2. Fanservice

If you were into Ai Yori Aoshi for its fan service, Sunohara-sou no Kanrinin-san has you covered. Karou and Aki often find themselves thrust in compromising situations with the girls time and time again. These ecchi scenes also make up a large portion of the comedy seen in both series, giving you scenes that are not only pleasing to your eyeballs but will also make you laugh in the process.
