Three Major Similarities Between Kemono Friends and Shoujo Shuumatsu Ryokou
1. Cheers, To The Journey
“It’s the friends we meet along life’s road who help us appreciate the journey.” This quote couldn’t be truer when comparing Kemono Friends and Girls’ Last Tour. As both stories are set in a time after the world’s destruction, Chito and Yuuri from Girls’ Last Tour; and Kaban, Serval, and the other animal girls of Kemono Friends are all faced with an unpredictable future. Although they are casted into unfortunate circumstances, the girls from both series are comforted in the fact that they have an incredible support system; aiding each other through the trials and tribulations they will come up against. In the Kettenkrad or bus, these girls keep on truckin’ no matter what obstacles block their path.
2. “Unforgettable, That’s What You Are”
In both Girls’ Last Tour and Kemono Friends, we observe progression and growth within the vibrant cast of characters. Each of the girls in both series take on varied approaches to try and find clues and pieces to life’s complex riddle. As each character shines with their own special talents and skills, they collectively begin to accept each other’s flaws and strengths. Their originality, whether it is driving a Kettenkrad like Chito or high-jumping like Jaguar, all the girls contribute significantly towards the final resolution. In the end, their uniqueness demonstrates that changing oneself is not required for friendship, as finding rewards in shared activities and memories are priceless.
3. Mad Skills Yo!
We observe in Girls’ Last Tour and Kemono Friends that it takes more than muscle to defeat your enemies. To triumph over any challenge, Chito and Yuuri from Girls’ Last Tour and Kaban and Serval from Kemono Friends are all clever and talented individuals, extremely crafty and determined. Apart from their natural talents, abilities, and instincts, the duos in both anime have standout personalities, an aspect that is significantly important for unexpected occurrences in an unfamiliar and totally unrecognizable atmosphere.

Three Major Similarities Between Kemono Friends and Houseki no Kuni
1. Nothing Comes Easy
“Come along and ride on a fantastic voyage!” Although many of us would like to forget about “our troubles and our nine to five” when embarking on a grand journey, it’s been known that the “bumps in the road” make any trip more exciting. This sentiment definitely reflects both scenarios present in Houseki no Kuni and Kemono Friends; Phos goes looking for Cinnabar in order to gather more information for the encyclopedia, and Kaban’s quest includes finding out what species she is and where she originated from. Following this line of thought, their paths are not going to be straight and narrow, leaving their roads an exhilarating curvy experience.
2. Beautiful, Bright, and Distinct Animation
Unlike the average, delicate, and subdued color palette we see in many anime currently airing, Houseki no Kuni and Kemono Friends, display a well-defined 3D, extremely colorful, and unique animation style. Details are grossly exaggerated, but common in a fantasy element. Following this, action sequences are visually stimulating and an overall enjoyable viewing adventure.
3. “Packed Like Sardines”
In Houseki no Kuni, the story centers on Phos and Cinnabar, and in Kemono Friends, the two main focal characters are Kaban and Serval. We observe that both dynamic duos are supported with a vast character casting, helping them tremendously on their epic journey. Whether you find a mass of characters a good or bad quality in your anime viewing experience, we declare that in the case of Houseki no Kuni and Kemono Friends, there’s nothing wrong with having a posse. Furthermore, we can see that every jewel person or animal friend is not one and the same, so as a result, the character list is not filled with clutter nor irrelevancies.
