What You Need to Know:
- Today the installment of Weekly Shounen Jump has announced today that the hit series which has been running for 14 years, Gintama, will officially come to a close in just five more installment chapters.
- The series originally announced that it was in the final arc, The Silver Soul arc, in 2016. The series currently has another anime cours on air for Summer 2018 while the second Gintama live action movie debuted last week in Japan.
- After debuting in 2004 from Hideaki Sorachi, Gintama has become a fan favorite series and has continuously sold well throughout the years that it has been published and on air. The currently airing cours "The Silver Soul Arc" originally debuted in Winter 2018 before taking Spring off and coming back this Summer. No information has been released at this time as to whether or not the arc on air will be the end of the anime series.
