Top Male Libra Anime Characters [Updated]

Libra is the sign of balance. However, that doesn't mean Libras are ALWAYS balanced. In fact, one of their biggest weaknesses is obsessing over this. Likewise, Libras are intelligent, cooperative, hate injustice, and are great at making compromises. They're social, helpful, and crave companionship which can sometimes pull them away from where and what they really want to be or should be. As an air sign, Libras can also have their head in the clouds often, love being outdoors, and are great leaders. The Libra anime boys we have for you today showcase several of these traits in their very own unique way!

5. Iruma Suzuki from Mairimashita! Iruma-kun (Welcome to Demon School! Iruma-kun)

Like many Libras, Iruma is kind—which does not help his case in the demon world—and avoids conflict; and when he's in a tight spot, he resorts to one of his Libra strengths: creativity! This allows Iruma to get out of even the stickiest situations. Though not without the help of the supportive group he's built for himself with his irresistible Libra charisma! Though he had been all alone until he entered demon school, Iruma is finally able to enjoy the social life every Libra desires, surrounding himself with those who make him feel less alone, supported and like they need him. Unfortunately, this Libra boy also tends to put others before himself, which, while admirable, can lead to a lack of personal happiness. Though seeing as how this is way better than his previous life, more power to you Iruma-kun!

4. Eijiro Kirishima (Red Riot) from Boku no Hero Academia (My Hero Academia)

Kirishima is definitely the social type of Libra. He is loud and proud and loves having friends and hanging out. As a hero in training, though, it's clear that he lives for justice and to help others. He is an amazing team player, even teaching Bakugo a thing or two. He is noble, loyal, and selfless to the point that he puts others' happiness and safety before his own. When he fails, though, he falls into that same self-deprecating mood Libras are prone to. Can we just give this hard on the outside, soft on the inside Libra hero a hug!?

3. Garfiel from Re:ZERO

A sign's weaknesses tend to manifest when one's life experiences are less than ideal. As such, Garfiel is unable to find his balance and instead goes all into staying in and protecting the forest. Of course, this is also caused in part by his desire for companionship and the Libra's tendency to wallow in self-pity if given the chance. Garfiel is also a creative Libra, coming up with plans and attacks his opponents don't expect and, come on, have you seen his unique outfit and look? Luckily, Garfiel makes a lot of good friends that are eventually able to pull him into a positive Libra trait: compromise!

2. Arthur Boyle from Enen no Shouboutai (Fire Force)

Arthur puts the air(headed) in the Libra sign. This overconfident member of the Fire Force embodies the cooperative spirit of the Libra as well as their passion for justice and their relentless loyalty. On the negative side, Arthur worries so much about his team and being great that he always feels like there's still more he can do to feel fulfilled. He may be a bit annoying at times but we would all love to have this Libra boy around to brighten our day and make us feel supported.

1. Kirito from Sword Art Online

Another brave Libra knight, Kirito perfectly exemplifies the sign's strengths by being an amazing communicator as well as having the imagination and quick wit to deal with any situation. Libras are also lovable! And who doesn't love Kirito in his circle of waifus and friends?! We of course can't forget about Kirito's diplomacy and hate of injustice, typical Libra traits. He's never expressed not wanting to be alone but the way he has surrounded himself with loving peers and chosen a life partner in the equally intelligent and gracious Asuna says it all!

Final Thoughts

What do you think? Which of these Libra anime boys do you relate to the most? Who knew there were so many Shounen stars who were Libras! We admire their resolve and loyalty, but we also worry that they don't think about themselves enough. Gotta love those Libras! An otaku as far as I can remember. I grew up playing video games, watching anime in Spanish in Mexico where I grew up, and then was a member of both anime clubs at UTEP for my entire university life when I moved to Texas. I love going to cons, I used to cosplay (always hoping to get back into it), and I got to live in Japan for 2 years and be an otaku there! It was literally a dream come true! Now back in the US, I love being a writer and editor for Honey’s. It’s a great chance to keep up with all the latest anime each season and up to date with all otaku news. And without our readers, that wouldn’t be possible so, thank you for being a part of our hive!!

Libras are strong in positions of authority. They often make good governors or hold positions of power in government. This is because they possess traits that make them fair-minded and cooperative. These diplomatic individuals are people to look up to because of their traits that allow them to see many points of view rather than just sticking to their initial one. Libras are rational and open-minded, making them an ideal coworker or partner in a relationship. As with any zodiac sign though, they are partial to certain weaknesses. Libras tend to be indecisive and will avoid confrontation at any cost which can make them seem weak. It is important to be able to balance the strengths and weaknesses of any sign and use them to your advantage.

As with humans, anime characters must learn to balance their traits as well. With the character development that is put behind them, we are able to admire the character and analyze their personality and traits. The men in this list that have birthdays between September 23rd and October 22nd are the best representations of the Libra traits in anime. We must not only analyze their character for how strong they are but also look more deeply into their weaknesses and see how well they represent all traits that make up a Libra. With this analysis we are able to take a more in depth look into the creation of anime as a whole and have a better appreciation for the characters.

10. Mikuni Alicein from Servamp

  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: July 2016 - September 2016

While Mikuni initially comes off as rather off-putting and strange, he is actually quite competent. He tends to avoid confrontations by acting irrationally and making people shun him rather than directly engaging in violence. However, Mikuni is not afraid to engage in a fight if necessary. Mikuni’s abnormal and disturbing earn the lowest spot on our list because he is about as far from diplomatic and fair-minded as one could possibly get.

9. Kenma Kozume from Haikyuu!! (Haikyu!!)

  • Episodes: 25
  • Air Date: April 2014 - September 2014

Kenma is very reserved in all of his actions. While he is described as being the backbone and heart of the team, he does not take action unless he deems it absolutely necessary. While he is cooperative with his teammates and understanding, he is not very trusting of outsiders which makes him seem unfriendly and unapproachable to those who don’t know him. Kenma displays tremendous skill when it comes to sports but his cold attitude distances him from being the ideal Libra and earns him a lower spot on our list.

8. Hirato from Karneval

  • Episodes: 13
  • Air Date: April 2013 - June 2013

Although we rarely see Hirato taking his job seriously, he manages to maintain a high standard for his crew. While he is extremely polite and diplomatic as expected by a ship’s captain, we see a darker side of him that is manipulative and callous. A less caring side of him appears when he uses Gareki as bait in his own plans. This captain is uncaring and not indecisive in the least, making him a poor example of a Libra and as a human in general.

7. Erwin Smith from Shingeki no Kyojin (Attack on Titan)

  • Episodes: 25
  • Air Date: April 2013 - September 2013

Erwin may have seemed harsh from the outside but what he did he did for the good of humanity as a whole. He maintained a larger picture of the ideal and searched for the best way to attain it. As an individual, Erwin is diplomatic and serious. He does not hesitate when it comes to doing the right thing, even if it means sacrificing some of his men. As commander the Survey Corps, Erwin keeps his priorities straight and is never indecisive. This allows him to maintain a strong front, although he does not show many negative characteristics of a Libra.

6. Ranpo Edogawa from Bungou Stray Dogs (Bungo Stray Dogs)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: April 2016 - June 2016

As a genius in his own right, Ranpo can solve any crime that comes his way. He is special because he doesn’t have the inherent gifts to fall back on that others around him has, but he just sees that as a challenge to work even harder to be better than them. He is able to find clues that are deeply hidden and is a valuable asset to the team. His cooperative and diplomatic demeanor when around his colleagues make him an excellent addition to the team and an ideal Libra.

5. Gintoki Sakata from Gintama

  • Episodes: 201
  • Air Date: April 2006 - March 2010

While Gintoki is incredibly skilled, he is also extraordinarily lazy. With a high level of training as a samurai, Gintoki has no problem fighting enemies off but he would much rather laze around under a tree. Past experiences have shaped his image of himself and he now holds the guilt in his interactions with others. While he does not avoid interactions with others, he does not seek them out. He prefers to wallow in self-pity rather than putting his skills to good use. Gintoki is an excellent example of a Libra who allowed his negative traits to override his positive ones.

4. Yuuichirou Hyakuya from Owari no Seraph (Seraph of the End: Vampire Reign)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: April 2015 - June 2015

As a young and hopeful child, Yuuichirou was fairly lonely because he didn’t socialize often with others. However, growing up he portrayed more of his Libra characteristics. He became more social and fair-minded. He was kind to those who deserved it and even with his wild temper, he was often cooperative and diplomatic. Yuuichirou has a bad habit of carrying grudges though and this is shown throughout Seraph of the End and makes him an excellent example of an evolving Libra.

3. Kent from Amnesia

  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: January 2013 - March 2013

Kent is calculating and rational. He loves to face any challenge head on and gets easily frustrated if the situation is not one that he can solve through rational and scientific thinking. Though where his social skills are lacking, he is generally cooperative when it comes to his relationships. He gives every situation his fullest attention and seeks to get the most out of every interaction (though he generally fails with friendly communication). These traits make Kent an ideal Libra and earn him a spot towards the top of our list.

2. Naruto Uzumaki from Naruto

  • Episodes: 220
  • Air Date: October 2002 - February 2007

Naruto is not as calculating as others on this list and is rather slow in picking up new concepts. He strives to protect not only those close to him, but everyone who he can even if it means forgiving them for past digressions. Naruto’s greatest gift is kindness and he includes it in all interactions with others. His social nature allows him to be friendly with a great many people and protect them to the extent of his ability. Naruto also has a diplomatic nature that ultimately helped him to win the Fourth Shinobi World War and allows him a spot near towards the top of our list of Libras.

1. Takeaki Enomoto from Hakuouki (Hakuoki - Demon of the Fleeting Blossom)

  • Episodes: 12
  • Air Date: April 2010 - June 2010

As second in command of the navy, Takeaki holds a position of great responsibility. He takes to the role admirably and must make life or death decisions on a regular basis. Takeaki’s diplomatic nature is natural for a Libra and he takes into account the opinions of his underlings with every decision that he makes. He avoids confrontations when possible but is not afraid to face them head on if necessary. These combined traits make Takeaki Enomoto an admirable Libra and earns him the top spot on our list.

Final Thoughts

Libras are known for their diplomatic nature. This allows them to hold positions of power well and even in their personal relationships, they allow for a deep understanding that other signs are not capable of. These social individuals are admirable for their gracious manner and are cooperative in many situations that they face. However, as with all signs, they do have their drawbacks and need to learn how to balance them accordingly to make themselves the best that they can be. The tendency to be indecisive and wallow in self-pity is strong in Libras and can make them appear weak to others. By balancing these traits, Libras can make themselves into strong and commendable individuals who can achieve almost anything. The men on this list represent the top Libras males in anime and are excellent and original characters in their own right.
