The Ultimate Lesson With a Spice of Revenge! - Episode 7 of The Misfit of Demon King Academy

We’ve hit the halfway mark of Maou Gakuin no Futekigousha (The Misfit of Demon King Academy) this week and wow…what a surprise coming from our Anos Voldigoad! Our forgotten Demon King has made a name for himself—despite the misfit moniker—by proving his skills time after time. Anos has changed the life of two girls—Misha and Sasha Necron—and bested a magic sword user named Lay Glanzudlii with only a stick. Yet, episode 7 had Anos deal with a situation that attacked his very core and he wasn’t shy on making his assailant suffer. Let’s break down episode 7 of The Misfit of Demon King Academy and talk about this incredible episode in greater detail!

In our seventh episode of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, Anos has just won the first round of the magic sword battle thanks to the love his father put into crafting his new weapon. However, Lay has proven that something is happening to him behind the scenes and our demon king decides to do some detective work. With the help of Misha, the two discover Lay’s issue isn’t with Anos but with his mother and her fleeting health…

Lay’s mother is a half spirit who has a strange disease known simply as Spirits’ Disease. Anos being the overpowered demon king he is, realizes there might be a way to help her and uses Misha’s own life force to coexist with the dying spirit. The situation seems under control to Anos but his mother runs into an unlikely enemy in the form of Anos’ homeroom teacher.

Emilia attacks Anos’ fan club and Izabella—who was given the task of carrying his new sword home—and they girls don’t do well against the power that is a teacher. When Izabella is about to face a possible death, Anos appears—of course—and saves the day! Using his teleport magic, Anos brings Emilia to the coliseum where the tournament is being held and the two clash! Anos being exceptionally more powerful than his teacher defeats her quickly but not without making her pay a rather heavy fee for attacking his dear mom.

Anos kills Izabella and resurrects the proud pureblood but not in the body she use to have. Izabella has been reincarnated as a hybrid and now must suffer the rest of her life as one. Anos points out that she can try to kill herself but she will simply revive as a hybrid forever and ever. This punishment was so surprising to see in The Misfit of Demon King Academy as it holds a very real-world ideal behind it. It’s easy to curse people we don’t understand but when we are forced to live in their shoes our outlooks change quickly. Now Izabella will need to live her life as a hybrid, something she utterly detests and see life in a while new way!

The episode wrapped up with Lay learning of Anos’ attempted help at saving his mother and the two meet in the tournament not as enemies but rivals. Episode 7 was jam packed with emotions that were a surprise to see from this type of series. Anos was always rising in our affection charts for being a super cool and handsome anime protagonist but after what he did to Izabella, we have fallen for this demon king even more! We can only imagine what trick Anos has up his sleeve for the duel coming next week but we don’t doubt for a moment that it will be an epic anime fight!
