Anos Voldigoad once was one of several important leaders and in order to create peace, sacrificed himself using magic. Reborn in a new body, Anos, in season one of The Misfit of Demon King Academy, quickly discovered that his name was tarnished and replaced by a fake demon king but quickly rose up to the challenge using his superior magic and abilities. Well, in season 2, Anos’ power has increased seemingly 100-fold with even newer magical capabilities making his OP more intense. Nicholas D. Wolfwood is probably one of the most iconic characters from the Trigun franchise as he dons his giant cross that turns into a Gatling gun-like weapon. In Trigun Stampede, Nicholas’ OP abilities have only seemed to get…MORE OP! Now capable of taking tons of damage—that would kill most normal men—Nicholas still has his iconic cross-gun but has newer abilities that work well with his back story. Nicholas literally takes a giant cannon and moves it using his bare hands. Nicholas is cool and extremely OP which makes him a perfect fit for our list.

Many hack-and-slash gamers don’t need to be told that one of the best games of modern memory comes in the form of Nier: Automata. Now adapted into an anime, Nier: Automata Ver1.1a brings forth one of the rarer female OP characters called YoRHA No.2 Type B or better known as 2B. Goth-like female android, 2B is a powerhouse of a warrior utilizing her various swords and extreme movement abilities. What’s even wilder is 2B can—and has—be completely destroyed and as long as her memory is uploaded to a server, is able to be revived without issue…how OP is that!? 2B’s OP skills transitioned well from the video game to the anime world which makes us quite happy!

Despite having a very vanilla name, Ray White from the underrated The Iceblade Sorcerer Shall Rule the World is one of the surprising OP titans of the 2023 winter season. In his world, Ray is considered one of the stronger modern-day ice-blade wielders and from a few battles, you can tell why. Ray is capable of using some just outlandish ice magic that is exciting to witness and makes The Iceblade Sorcerer anime an easy anime to recommend if you need a fantasy series to watch. So yes, Ray’s name is pretty meh but his abilities are no joke and while he does have some weaknesses, we wouldn’t bet against him in a fight to the death!

Imagine having a playing card that not only gives you superhuman-like abilities but also allows you to join a small team of undercover warriors who also have card-like powers. That’s the main premise behind High Card and even crazier is one of the powers that stem from Chris Redgrave’s card. Dubbed Calorie High, Chris can literally take fatal damage and recover from it via his card’s ability at the cost of calories. In a world of people who can kill others using summoned guns and literal marbles of death, Chris’ card is literal OP to the extreme and makes him a scary threat but at least he is balanced in comparison to most OP characters on his list as his Calorie High doesn’t give him super weapons and makes him rely on his own talents in a fight.
