Touken Ranbu: Hanamaru takes place in the year 2205, a time when Alternate Historicists are attacking the past in an attempt to change history. The Saniwa sage has a mission to protect that history and so has gathered the strongest type of Tsukumogami (inanimate objects inhabited by spirits) in the Inner Citadel: Touken Danshi (Sword Warriors).

This is Hanamaru, the tale of these boys in a certain Citadel who sometimes smile, sometimes feel lost, but always live earnestly.

An Uchigatana sword used by Souji Okita of the Shinsengumi. Like Kashuu Kiyomitsu, he’s difficult to handle and chooses who wields him himself. He may look obedient at first glance, but when the time comes to battle...

Kashuu Kiyomitsu

Voice Actor: Toshiki Masuda

Another Uchigatana sword used by Souji Okita of the Shinsengumi. Possibly because he was born in a poor environment, he thinks that beauty is the way to get affection. Although they seem completely different, he and Yamatonokami Yasusada are so similar that they often end up fighting.

Heshikiri Hasebe

Voice Actor: Tarusuke Shingaki

The Uchigatana sword created by Hasebe Kunishige and used by Nobunaga Oda. Deeply loyal to his master, he thirsts to become his master’s number one - although he has not once said this aloud. Has no issue doing the dirty work.

Imanotsurugi

Voice Actor: Daiki Yamashita

Famous for being the sword that both protected Minamoto no Yoshitsune and was used for his suicide, his original appearance is unknown. A cheeky Tengu child from Mount Kurama. Has incredible balance and runs around energetically in geta sandals with only one tooth (the central heel). Loves hearing stories about siblings.

Maeda Toushirou

Voice Actor: Reona Irie

A Tantou short sword made by Awataguchi Yoshimitsu. One of the Toushirou brothers and used by the Maeda clan. He often acts as a bodyguard, watching over the ladies’ sleeping area, and is very thoughtful. He wants his master to prioritise living over the outcome of a battle.
