Tsubasa Arihara loves the game of baseball. After learning that her school didn't have a baseball club, Tsubasa decides to start a team along with her best friend Tomoe Kawakita. Together with baseball newbies Akane Ukita and Yuki Nozaki, the girls officially start the club. Although they lack the skills or manpower to make a proper team, the girls work hard in order to hopefully reach nationals.

1. The Story

Little Busters! and Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine are less about actually playing baseball and more about the characters. Both anime are centered around a small group of characters that set out to make a baseball team. As the stories progress, more characters join the team which introduces more drama and situations for the team to overcome together.

2. The Characters

The characters are the main draw in both series. Most of the main cast of characters in both series are incredibly interesting and get a lot of development thanks to the various dramatic situations they find themselves in. Hachigatsu no Cinderella Nine does this in a slightly different way than Little Busters!, with most of its drama centering around baseball and each girl's relationship with the game, while Little Busters! uses baseball as a reason for the characters to meet and then adds the drama to their everyday lives.

Thanks to his pitching style, Eijun gets an offer to attend one of the most prestigious baseball schools in the country, Seidou High School. After seeing all of the incredible talent on the team, Eijun decides to attend Seidou High School. Diamond no Ace: Act II picks up after the fall tournament, as the Seidou High School baseball team prepares to face tougher challenges than they ever faced before.

1. Great Characters

Although the anime have very different stories, they both have fantastic characters that make the anime so much better. Both anime have large casts of characters that all feel unique and interesting. The characters in both series are deep and complex and they really draw you into the stories of the anime.

2. Themes of Friendship

Little Busters! and Diamond no Ace: Act II both focus on the characters as they work towards a common goal and make unbreakable bonds. The characters not only have to learn to trust and care for each other, but we also get to see them help each other out in their times of need. With each episode, their bonds only grow stronger and you can really get invested in the relationships between the characters.
