Anime isn't just for boys, you know! The world is 51% female so you just can't count girls out! Now, when it comes to anime for girls, don't think it's limited to shoujo or josei. Come on; females are just not that one dimensional. There's plenty of other anime to appeal to the female gender as well.
New viewers are getting into anime each day, but a majority of them get into it at a young age, say between the age of 13-19. Your teenage years! Teenage girls are a picky demographic, but that doesn't mean that there isn't something out there for them. With that in mind, let's take a look at the top 10 anime for all of you young girls out there!

CLAMP does a great job appealing to young girls with the exciting story of Chobits! Chobits is a story of complicated relationships and drama. Romance is complicated even at a young age, so Chobits can be a good anime to watch to see the different sides of love and how it can be made difficult with artificial lifeforms like the Chobits. It helps to know that not everything in your life sucks and other people have their own problems.

However, there's not much known about the Titans and even worse, Eren doesn't really seem to know much about himself.
Shingeki no Kyojin is an anime that knows no boundaries. Young girls will love strong female characters such as Mikasa who shows that strength is in having something to protect. Shingeki no Kyojin can make you feel like anything is possible, you just have to believe in yourself and find the power within to protect others. Don't let people fool you; there's more to Shingeki no Kyojin than fighting titans.
7. Full Moon wo Sagashite (Searching for the Full Moon)

Kouyama Mitsuki is a 12 year old girl who was diagnosed with a malignant tumor of her throat, making it difficult for her to do what she loves: sing! Now, with the help of these two shinigami, Mitsuki will be able to fulfill her promise and pursue her dream before her time runs out.
Mitsuki is a great example for young children. She shows you that you can overcome all odds to make your dreams come true against all odds. Mitsuki doesn't let her own illness hold her back, and you shouldn't either. She may be 12 years old, but Mitsuki is emotionally strong enough to defy her family and those around her for the sake of her own dreams. Full Moon wo Sagashite is the perfect anime for all girls out there who have their own battles ahead of them.
6. Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun (Monthly Girls' Nozaki-kun)

Gekkan Shoujo Nozaki-kun has light hearted humor that helps ease the troubles that seems to weigh heavily on the minds of young girls. Life isn't easy just because you're young, you know. Unrequited love isn't always funny in the real world, but if you just take it with a grain of salt the way Chiyo does, you might just find that unrequited love isn't as hard as you think. Together, Akane and Shinya work to figure out the mastermind behind all the unusual murders taking place.
Psycho-Pass is a lot like high school. People are always making hasty judgements on who you are, which can hinder your life, but that doesn't mean it has to get you down. Kougami Shinya continues to work hard and protect others despite his own status as a criminal. Psycho-Pass is a great anime that teaches us to challenge the ideas of society and not just accept everything as is.
