Thank you, Japan, for blessing us with the beautiful world of ‘ecchi’ content. If you’re a newcomer to manga or anime, ecchi is a focus on sexual jokes and running gags that range anywhere from pure fanservice (think near-naked hot spring scenes) to big-breasted characters in compromising situations (hapless main characters always end up falling between their crush’s boobs!).

Whether you’ve just started reading ecchi manga or you’re looking for new titles that have recently been released, we here at Honey’s Anime have updated our previous list with brand-new recommendations from the past few years. Ecchi manga are more popular than ever these days, so there are definitely plenty of options to choose from!

10. Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san)

  • Authors: Hiiragi Yuuichi
  • Genres: School Life, Supernatural, Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, Shounen
  • Volumes: 2+
  • Published: April 2021 – present

Starting our list of ecchi manga is a title we reviewed recently on Honey’s Anime (you can find our thoughts in the linked articles down below), Haite Kudasai, Takamine-san (Please Put Them On, Takamine-san). In this supernatural ecchi rom-com, the titular character Takamine is the typical student council president — gorgeous, intelligent, and top of the school hierarchy. But she has a secret to her perfection — whenever she strips off her underwear, she can undo one action she’s taken!

With this supernatural twist, Please Put Them On, Takamine-san manages to tell an entire story about ecchi itself, with plenty of fanservice shots, nudity gags, and general sexual tension between Takamine and the friend she ropes into serving her on her goal to stardom! There are plenty of laughs and ecchi content here, and this series is just getting started, so keep a close eye out if this sounds like your cup of tea!

9. Love Rush!

  • Authors: Yamamoto Ryouhei
  • Genres: Supernatural, Harem, Comedy, Ecchi, Shounen
  • Volumes: 2 (Complete)
  • Published: January 2020

We’re not going to pretend we stayed awake during our chemistry classes, so we might have missed the lesson about the ‘ubermale’ gene — a hormone that not only makes you a super-stud in your own world, but can attract gorgeous beauties from other dimensions too! Wait…you’re saying that gene doesn’t exist?! Well, it does for main character Reiji, who doesn’t care for his ubermale gene — he just wants to confess to his crush, the only girl who isn’t affected by his charm!

Standing between him and his crush is Kokoro (a literal cupid princess) and a plethora of succubi and monster girls from other dimensions who have come to take Reiji for themselves. Love Rush! is an all-too-short series that came to a premature end, but is still well worth the read for its great premise and ecchi harem moments. Until then, we’re going back to the classroom to learn more about genetics…maybe we can create the ubermale gene for ourselves!

8. Isekai de Slow Life o (Ganbou) (Slow Life In Another World (I Wish!))

  • Authors: shige
  • Genres: Harem, Fantasy, Isekai, Comedy, Ecchi
  • Volumes: 2+
  • Published: August 2021 – present

Being reincarnated isn’t always the fantastical adventure it’s cracked up to be, and honestly, that’s just fine for exhausted office worker Itsuki. He just wants to live a nice quiet life, and when he’s transported to a new magical world, he gets the break of his life — a magical ability that generates cash for him every day! Now he can live out his days peacefully…right?

Of course not! Itsuki is roped into hijinks with all sorts of adventurers and gorgeous half-animal girls, constantly getting himself into trouble in this strange otherworldly place. If there’s one thing that isekai manga can really deliver on, it’s giving us the ecchi beast-girl content of our dreams, and Isekai de Slow Life o (Ganbou) (Slow Life In Another World (I Wish!)) is no different. From cute dog girls to busty knights, there are panty-shots and river-bathing scenes a-plenty, with lots of fanservice to go around.

Now, about earning cash every day…that’s the real fantasy!

7. Mushoku Tensei - Roxy datte Honki desu (Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious)

  • Authors: Rifujin na Magonote
  • Genres: Fantasy, Adventure, Ecchi, Slice of Life, Shounen
  • Volumes: 6+
  • Published: April 2019 – present

An ecchi manga list really wouldn’t feel complete without Mushoku Tensei somewhere in the rankings, especially given the anime’s recent popularity. While we could recommend the original light novels and their manga adaptation, the top spot on our list today goes to the fabulous spin-off series Mushoku Tensei - Roxy datte Honki desu (Mushoku Tensei: Roxy Gets Serious).

As the title suggests, this spin-off (based on the light novels of the same name) stars Roxy in a prequel of sorts, following her journey after she leaves her hometown. Everyone’s favourite mage gets up to all sorts of adventure on her journey - from becoming a waitress to joining a new party - and whether you’re new to Mushoku Tensei or just want to get started, Roxy Gets Serious is a great place to jump in.

In classic Mushoku Tensei style, the ecchi moments are served via numerous panty-shots and gratuitous oppai fanservice, although it’s not quite as lewd as the main series. All the same, this is a much-deserved entry in the growing Mushoku Tensei universe!

6. Koi shita no de, Haishin shite mita (I Fell in Love, so I Tried Livestreaming)

  • Authors: Azuma Tama
  • Genres: Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, Seinen
  • Volumes: 1+
  • Published: 2020 (Digital)

The idea of characters living in a share house together seems to be exclusively used for fanservice mishaps and romantic tension, as is the case in Koi shita no de, Haishin shite mita (I Fell in Love, so I Tried Livestreaming). When Yuu Inuzuka enrolls in high school and joins a 6-person share house, it quickly becomes apparent that the three girls and three boys sharing those four walls are all keeping secrets…

Available digitally on Mangamo (in case you’re struggling to find the English release), this series is beautifully drawn and offers a great mix of romantic tension and ecchi content, straddling a middle line that makes the whole thing a blast to read. If you want to read something with a greater emphasis on the bonds between the characters, I Fell in Love, so I Tried Livestreaming is a great place to start!

5. Kiruru Kill Me

  • Authors: Kano Yasuhiro
  • Genres: Action, Comedy, Ecchi, Romance, Shounen
  • Volumes: 2+
  • Published: October 2021 – present

Ever wondered what billionaires get up to with all that time and money? For Nemo Aoi, the gifted director of the Aoi Pharmaceutical empire, he uses his genius intelligence and fabulous wealth to… hire a hit on himself?! In Kiruru Kill Me, one wealthy billionaire forms an unhealthy romantic obsession with an assassin, and in order to spend more time with her, orders her to kill him!

The gorgeous assassin Kiruru is great at her job, but is no match for the frighteningly deluded intellect of her target, creating a series of comedic assassination attempts that always end in failure. Kiruru Kill Me offers an interesting take on the ecchi concept, with Kiruru refusing to use her ‘womanly weapons’ (ahem, her stellar body, shall we say) to lure Nemo to his doom…but that doesn’t stop Nemo’s imagination from going overboard every time he’s near her!

With a hilarious premise, great comedy, a snarky narrator, and ecchi moments that are definitely not conducive to Nemo living a particularly long life, Kiruru Kill Me offers entertaining — and unique — ecchi action!

4. Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest)

  • Authors: Shirakome Ryou
  • Genres: Isekai, Ecchi, Harem, Fantasy
  • Volumes: 7+
  • Published: March 2018 – present

Based on the light novels of the same name, Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest) definitely doesn’t shy away from its ecchi roots. Without spoiling too much of the manga’s plot, Arifureta is an isekai where the main character gains prodigious strength after being betrayed and left for dead by his fellow classmates who were also summoned to this new world to defeat the enemies of mankind. But our main character, Hajime, could care less about saving the world, especially when it hasn’t shown him any kindness…

Hajime soon builds out his adventuring harem, and quite quickly we have almost every ecchi stereotype you can imagine! There’s a salacious vampire, a busty bunny-girl, a perpetually horny dragon, and even Hajime’s old high-school flame who is now a powerful priestess! Arifureta’s character designs and humour really lean into the ecchi side of things, even while the story is ruthlessly action-packed, featuring a main character with a serious grit to his personality. Arifureta Shokugyou de Sekai Saikyou (Arifureta: From Commonplace to World's Strongest) is definitely a must-read for isekai action fans!

3. Houkago Bitch Craft (After-School Bitchcraft)

  • Authors: Shimizu Yuu
  • Genres: School Life, Ecchi, Romance, Comedy, Fantasy, Seinen
  • Volumes: 3+
  • Published: March 2020 – present

Don’t let the title of Houkago Bitch Craft (After-School Bitchcraft) dissuade you from what is, in truth, quite an excellent rom-com fantasy with plenty of ecchi moments. High-schooler Ririka ticks all the boxes for stereotypical ‘gyaru’ (gal) culture, with her dyed hair, huge boobs, and cute-but-airheaded personality. There’s just one extra thing…she has a hidden aptitude for magecraft! After stumbling unharmed through her chemistry teacher’s magical barrier, she becomes his new apprentice!

After-School Bitchcraft is a pleasant combination of laugh-out-loud humor, clashing personalities, and ecchi fanservice. The mangaka knows exactly what caught your attention on that cover image, and Ririka is always somehow reduced to just her underwear or forced into sticky situations (and yes, that’s a euphemism, but we’re only talking about a slime monster…) that require a blatantly fanservice-y shower afterwards!

The later volumes expand more into the world of magicians, including a rival mage for Ririka to combat in both magic and looks, so if you’re wanting a high-school ecchi story with a heavy helping of magic, look no further than After-School Bitchcraft!

2. Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent-a-Girlfriend)

  • Authors: Miyajima Reiji
  • Genres: Harem, Romance, Comedy, Ecchi, Shounen
  • Volumes: 10+
  • Published: June 2020 – present

After getting dumped by his girlfriend, college student Kazuya rebounds by hiring the ‘rental girlfriend’ Chizuru, and accidentally falls into a fake relationship with her when both of their grandmothers think they’re dating. Kanojo, Okarishimasu (Rent-a-Girlfriend) really shines in the ridiculous-comedy department, with Kazuya’s life taking a crazy turn when the lies start piling up in his fake relationship!

There are ecchi moments galore in Rent-a-Girlfriend, with plenty of fanservice bikini and panty-shot moments, not to mention classic wardrobe malfunction and accidental-groping gags. Plus, the designs for all of the characters are somewhere between adorable and sexy, only adding to Kazuya’s problems as he struggles with the definition of ‘real’ and ‘fake’ relationships.

If you watched the anime for Rent-a-Girlfriend and weren’t quite satisfied, give the manga a try instead — there are ten volumes at the time of writing, and the relationships and comedy have only gotten better with each instalment!

1. Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san (Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro)

  • Authors: 774 House / Nanashi
  • Genres: Comedy, Ecchi, School Life, Romance, Shounen
  • Volumes: 9+
  • Published: November 2019 – present

Sitting at the very top of our list is an ecchi comedy that, at least in our opinion, manages to draw out the best parts of all its components — from sexually suggestive teasing to hilarious gags to (later on) actual romantic elements.

Ijiranaide, Nagatoro-san (Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro) is very much the embodiment of the childish idea that “they only bully you because they like you,” and in the case of first-year girl Nagatoro, she bullies her senpai Naoto for that exact reason.

Don’t Toy With Me, Miss Nagatoro isn’t as explicit as some of the other entries on our list, nor does it really push the ecchi-ness to the forefront of the story. It’s more about the playful bullying and awkward moments than anything else, making it a series to read and enjoy beyond just the ecchi scenes. Despite how the initial premise might come off, there’s a genuine bond between the two characters, and watching Nagatoro and Naoto’s relationship evolve is enjoyable and strangely heartwarming.

Final Thoughts

Whether you’re reading ecchi manga for the fanservice alone or you like the unique brand of comedy that ecchi brings to manga, there are plenty of new titles out there waiting for you to read them! This list is far from complete, and we’d like to give honourable mentions to Uzaki-chan Wants to Hang Out, Girlfriend Girlfriend, Eden’s Zero, Cautious Hero, and The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really Love You!

Let us know what your favourite ecchi manga are down in the comments below! Did one of your picks make the list, or do you think we should’ve added something else? Leave a comment, and as always, thank you for reading!

10. Hantsu x Torasshu

  • Mangaka: Kobayashi, Hiyoko
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 10
  • Published: July 2012 - Present

Youhei is very lazy perverted freshman in high school who just wants to live his life aimlessly, and not care for the trivial things this world deals with. He’s no good at anything he does and lacks the drive to stick to any particular subject. All he cares about is girls and so one day at school a sophomore insists that he join a club where he’s free to fondle oppai as much as he pleased. Youhei immediately signs up for the water polo club, but with Youhei’s track record of not committing to anything, how long will he stick around?

This manga is full of oppai and groping at every corner, and it’s hilarious to read. You laugh so hard at Youhei’s desperate attempts to grab a hold of whatever he can, getting punished severely for it and leaving his head full of bumps. It’s sexy, stupid, and completely random all at the same time because you’d think these girls would complain by now. Youhei and his perverted team make the story more entertaining, and make you wish that you could trade positions with them just for a little while to enjoy all of the fun in the water.

9. Yuragisou no Yuuna -san

  • Mangaka: Miura, Tadahiro
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 2
  • Published: February 2016 - Present

Kogarashi was gifted with spiritual powers as a child but because of this incredible ability, it’s caused him a lot of grief which led him to living a very destitute life. While searching for a much happier lifestyle, he comes across a cheap boarding house that according to rumors, is haunted by a spirit. At first it didn’t seem like a bad place since his roommates were all women, but one night as he returned to his room from a relaxing time in the hot spring he encounters Yuna, the very same spirit that haunted the place. The two agree to live together and Kogarashi decides to help Yuna figure out her unfinished business, that is until the other tenants in the inn start to reveal their own supernatural secrets which is about to change Kogarashi’s life forever.

Not only do you have one attractive ghost girl living with you, but now you have other big breasted girls out to get a taste as well. Yuna has a deep and dark past that Kogarashi now has to cope with, and also this whole ordeal has turned into a harem festival for him. There’s so much that goes on throughout the manga that it’ll leave your head spinning, and eyes popping out from all of the oppai that just come out of nowhere. One minute you’ve settled down and the next page Kogarashi’s face is smushed between two giant cushions. You’re never bored as there’s moments of drunken outbursts, panty shots, moaning, and the whole nine yards in this ecchi comedy.

8. High School DxD

  • Mangaka: Ishibumi, Ichiei
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 9
  • Published: July 2010 - Present

Issei meets an unfortunate demise when he’s murdered by his first ever girlfriend on a date. Rias comes to his rescue and informs him that he’s been reincarnated as a demon and now he must do as she says as the two must work together. There’s an ongoing war between angels and demons with Issei stuck right between them, and now with all of this action taking place in his life, he’s about to find out that this ride is going to be a bumpy one.

Rias is such a ditsy character that sometimes you just want to hit her on the head, while Issei is so clueless that he often misses out on the best opportunity to grab some oppai. These two go back and forth with each other on so many occasions that you’d think this was a manga about a married couple going through marital problems, but then you’re thrown into all the action and you’re left laughing at all the antics these two pull off. Their contrasting personalities along with other flirtatious girls within the school create such a fantastic blend of laughter, anger, and overall craziness in this harem ecchi series.

7. Monster Musume no Iru Nichijou

  • Mangaka: Inui, Takemaru
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 10
  • Published: March 2012 - Present

Kusuru just wanted to start a new life doing something that would help the economy in some way or another. He comes across a government volunteer agency that allows individuals to engage in cultural exchange activities, and so he signs up immediately thinking this would create a breath of fresh air. Unfortunately he’s greeted by a very voluptuous half snake girl named Miia who changes his life forever. We say unfortunately because due to the rules of the cultural exchange act, there is to be no interspecies breeding which means that Kusuru has to keep his hormones under control at all times.

Keeping your hormones under control when you have an attractive big breasted female who clearly wants to sleep with you, is an extremely hard thing to do. How Kusuru does it is truly beyond our comprehension, but you’re constantly crying your eyes out at how badly Kusuru tries to avoid any sexual contact, but finds himself wrapped up in Miia’s body and she’s constantly caressing him in places that would spark anyone’s attention. Then you throw in the other four spontaneous women who also want to throw themselves at Kusuru, and this guy truly has his hands full. There’s never a dull moment as you watch Kusuru’s desperate attempts to avoid being caught by the government, and these girls making his life a living hell in this incredibly funny series.

6. GE: Good Ending

  • Mangaka: Sasuga, Kei
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 16
  • Published: August 2009 - January 2013

The title of the manga itself should be enough to get you excited about this next ecchi series. Utsumi just wants to confess how much he’s in love with the captain of the tennis team. Yuki, the captain, is an attractive young girl with a sparkling personality and Utsumi just can’t seem to resist the temptation to grab her attention as much as he can. Not only does Utsumi have to deal with Yuki, but also the other very well endowed girls around him that also want some attention as well.

Good ending, according to Sasuga Kei was an implied title which had derived from achieving good endings in visual novels. For those who’ve dabbled with visual novels, you’ll know that some will often go the extra mile when it comes to ensuring the main character gets more than just a few positive remarks, and with GE, once you read further into the story you’ll see that there are plenty of “endings” to entice you. This manga is so hot and steamy, these girls will strip down to their undergarments without hesitation, make out shamelessly, and just about every other form of ecchi you can think of. If you want to be visually stimulated by all the endless sexual conduct that occurs throughout this series, then pick it up right away!

5. Kimi no Iru Machi

  • Mangaka: Seo, Kouji
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 27
  • Published: May 2008 - February 2014

Haruto has told his friend Yuzuki so many times that he objects her ideas of living with him, but eventually those words no longer stood with Yuzuki as she eventually moves in. Now he has to put up with her freeloading ways, while also dealing with Nanami, the girl he actually likes. He prays that she doesn’t get the wrong idea, but with all that’s currently happening in his life Haruto has more on his plate than he imagined.

This manga actually took place in the same hometown of Seo Kouji, so this perhaps felt very personal to Seo while writing it. It’s a story of a young boy who’s trapped in a love triangle and needs to decide just what it is that he truly wants out of his relationship. On the one hand, Yuzuki is a flirtatious girl who clearly has feelings for Haruto and gets jealous at times, while Nanami is who he truly desires most in his heart. He clearly wants to have both of them, but with so much on the line he needs to choose the best one otherwise he may find himself in hot water very fast. Haruto’s feelings fluctuate back and forth as he no longer can control his temptations around Yuzuki, but somehow needs to keep Nanami in check!

4. To Love-ru Darkness

  • Mangaka: Hasemi, Saki
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 16
  • Published: October 2010 - Present

To Love-ru Darkness is the sequel to the original, but all of the main roles make their appearance in this as well. Rito can’t seem to get himself out of sticky situations, which are all uncensored by the way. The devil sisters Nana and Momo try so hard to have Rito confess his love to them, so they eventually enroll into his school to win his attention. Momo wants to create a harem specially for Rito and share him with other girls in the school, but she’s then confronted by Yami, who’s the Golden Darkness. Now her plans must be put on hold as possessed students with extremely powerful abilities have come out of nowhere, and plot to inflict harm to those around them. There’s someone mysterious behind all of this, and now the plot thickens as the devil sisters must uncover the truth behind it all.

Just when things start to get erotic we’re thrown right into all of the action. That isn’t to say there isn’t ecchi during the action, because there’s plenty of it all throughout this series. Nana and Momo make it very obvious that they want every piece of Rito, and they want to share their piece with other sexually stimulated women. You’re never disappointed as every scene has oppai, kissing, touching, moaning, and harem life to keep you on the edge of your seat. This borderline hentai manga will certainly be worth diving into as Rito finds himself locked into more than a love triangle, but a polygon of events that are sure to have you coming back for more.

3. Nozoki Ana

  • Mangaka: Honna, Wakou
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 13
  • Published: January 2009 - February 2013

Tatsuhiko makes his way to Tokyo so that he can start his new life in the art school he desired the most. Once he moves all of his things into the dorm, he notices a small hole located on his wall. Curious by what he’d see, he takes a peek through only to find a young girl masturbating passionately. He is then caught peeking by this unknown girl, and tries to desperately explain to her that there’s a hole in his wall. Infuriated by it all, she attempts to slam the door in his face but Kido holds the door back and pursues her to prove his innocence. Unfortunately he trips over himself and finds that he’s now on top of her, in the worst position he could find himself in. What’s worse is that now she’s taken a photo of him and threatens to blackmail him if he doesn’t follow her orders.

This horny girl named Emiru is the shining star of this story, as she tries to keep her dirty little secret hidden from the rest of the school. In order to do that she attempts to blackmail Tatsuhiko and use him as a scapegoat for whatever problems she encounters. Even better is that Tatsuhiko himself is a little bit of a playboy and gets around quite often with other girls. Desperately trying to prevent any word from getting out, Emiru uses her power of seduction to keep his lips shut in more ways than one, and ensuring that her innocent image stays clean.

2. Prison School

  • Mangaka: Hiramoto, Akira
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 22
  • Published: February 2011 - Present

Prison school is so funny that it’s hard to even describe in words. Kiyoshi and his colleagues find themselves in hot water when they’re framed for a crime they didn’t commit. Hachimitsu Private Academy was initially a female only school until they recently opened their doors to boys, so this opportunity seemed great for the bunch. Once they were framed however, that’s when the real story begins and so much takes place while they’re locked up in jail located on school grounds.

We don’t even know where to start with this one, because every encounter with Meiko leaves you tearing up almost every time, as her enormous breasts pop out of her costume, and the boys get constantly whipped as their punishment. As things continue to escalate, the humor just gets even funnier and the tension behind it all increases tremendously, as you’re always wondering just what type of punishment Kiyoshi, Reiji, Takehito, Jouji, and Shingo will encounter. Every moment has so much ecchi in it, from Meiko revealing more than she should, Hana climaxing at the most tense moments, and the perverted principal Kurihara’s hidden secret that you’re never bored while you read. We recommend reading the manga to truly experience the best out of this series, as the anime misses out on some very spectacular moments.

1. Shokugeki no Souma

  • Mangaka: Tsukuda, Yuuto
  • Genres: Ecchi
  • Volumes: 20
  • Published: November 2012 - Present

Yukihira is a passionate cook who works with his father in their family restaurant, coming up with creative recipes to treat their customers. His father decides one day to leave the restaurant to embark on a new adventure, and leaves it to Yukihira to carry the torch. Before that however, his father insists that he join the Tootsuki Culinary Academy so that he can become a professional chef and take his skills to the next level. From that very moment of enrolling, Yukihira’s life changed forever and so the battle for the best chef finally begins.

While this manga does primarily focus on culinary activities, the ecchi moments come in once all of the food is prepared and ready to be tasted by the judges. You’ll instantly crack up when the judges’ clothes come flying off and their exaggerated expressions are priceless. Shokugeki is humorous, informative, insightful, and just about everything you can imagine packed into one bento box of entertainment. You’ll be touched by the heartwarming relationship between Yukihira and Megumi, while laughing hysterically at how Mito tries so hard to avoid confessing her true feelings and her oppai bouncing around as she cooks. There’s no shortage of fun in this manga so be sure to mark this one down on your list of must reads.

Closing Statement

Ecchi manga continues to make its mark on the manga scene with its over the top artwork, and very provocative scenes that rock the mind. Whether they’re trying to fend off enemies, or the main character is an extreme pervert, ecchi manga has every element included so that everyone can enjoy. While we were only able to grab ten of our top choices, we’d love to hear from you all as to what ecchi manga you loved, and be sure to drop them down in the comments section below!
